I think it is time to find out how many FASST users read FG and how many have or have not had any heat related problems.

Is there a way to make the poll public, to see exactly who voted? I mean, I'm not saying the JR/Specktrum contingent wouldn't try to screw... err, skew the poll. I'm just sayin'...
Look at the results already: three people, including me, have indicated "HAVE NOT." Yet only 2 votes so far in that category. Meanwhile a "HAVE" vote with no post? Perhaps someone voted incorrectly? This can be a useful poll, but only if actual FASST users are voting. Something tells me that ain't gonna happen... -- Mike |

I have 30-40+hours on fasst and no issues at all. Lots of flights ~5-20 minute flight times.
3 6014's and 617's. This has been in -15f to 105f ambient temps. This is in the denver area. I have had mine since they first came out in dec 2006. In a post elsewhere the serial numbers shown are over 5000 units- spread overseas. How many here in the states? This leads me to believe or want to believe there is one h--- of a lot of them being used and a very small percentage with issues of some sort. Some I believe have merit of a issue at hand, some need further detailed debug to actually say what is up. Some of the posts saying heat related I seriouly doubt due to other data in their post. Example: my battery was also very hot. Example: my servos were hot to the touch. There are other comments also, will not go into them. Do not remember the exact wording used in the above example posts. I have a BEC that stops at 130f so the rx gets no power or flakey power, is this futaba's fault? NO. A number of new technologies in our equipment may be of concern. Batteries also included. It would be nice to see the voters handle-name!!!! And maybe a picture to show some of the equimpent, just to say yes I have it. Lots of posters that have no fasst equipment and making posts about it. 12Z...2-6014's on a SmartFly TurboReg....installed 2 esc fans on my rx's just as a precaution because of all the hype.
Not a single problem, my buddy Bret has same, w/o problems. And it is HOT AS HELL here, but we also use common sense and either cover our planes or they sit in the shade. |

Been using a 6014 since mid July with temps in the mid to upper 80's and no issues. I do not hesitate to fly when it's warm out and leave it out in the sun all day. But after reading all the junk I did install a fan for a precaution.
