The raffle plane was won by a YORK "????" (I forgot his last name, but he was from Utah.

I'm at the airport trying to get home.
Once again Price line.com has hosed me... and I'll probably be stuck for a month here in Pheonix...

Note to self.. PRICELINE SUCKS.. they don't really take care of connecting flights on different airlines, they just pretend to.

I have sand in places that sand should never be, I'm sun burnt and wind burnt and I can still say I had the best time in a long time.
Great flying, good buddies, and beautiful scenery. What more could you ask for!

Kiwi does have more videos and he was making an effort to upload them this morning.

And don;t forget to check the TAS gallery, I uploaded over 1000 pictures and still have a few more to go!

My perception is this is a contest where your A-Game needs to inlude being able to deal with a number of austere flight conditions including: High PA, High Winds, Extreme Xwind, Sand/dirt, and killer competition. I dont think its for everyone.

Tucson is great! Aussies get to practice on the moon, and almost everyone who attends gets to try to land their plane in a 20+ MPH crosswind. Congrats to Mark for the win! I hope Jason N. gets up there one day. That dude is very dedicated to the sport. Oh, and thanks to Desert Aircraft for once again putting on this awesome event. Can't wait to see all the awesome film footage!

I'd like to say a HUGE THANKS to KIWI for helping me all weekend long... to DAVE JOHNSON from DA for organizing a GREAT event. Thanks to the entire DA crew, to ANNA WOODS the worlds best score keeper. The TIMPA crew for such a nice airfield, and hosting this great event. To Great Planes for helping Dave bring Matt Chapman and his Cap 580 to the show! And thanks to all the sponsors of the event.... wow... so many great prizes.. so many generous sponsors.
And finally I'd like to say congratulations to all the pilots. Each one of you guys are top notch pilots and true sportsman it was inspiring to watch each and every one of you fly all weekend long!

Another special shout out goes to Quique Somenzini, he took his prize for his placement and gave it to 10 year old Spencer who took 6th in sportsman. The prize happened to be a DA-170. QQ once again shows his true support for youth in aviation.

Ok guys.. back to uploading pictures!
Spencer, myself and the rest of the fam are finally coming down from the TAS "high". The contest was completely awesome (thanks Dave Johnson, Micheal Marcellin, et.al.) and we all had a great time meeting people and catching some fantastic flying. I can't believe how well this contest was run and what a great job Kiwi and SleepyC did at getting pictures and videos on-line. Spencer was in total shock (as was I!) all the way home at what Quique did, especially since Spencer had never met him before this contest. He is already talking about hitting the field and starting to practice for Intermediate next year....oh, and he wants to start practicing for freestyle (oh, my! I don't know if I can handle that!). Even though Spence was so glad to have made the TAS, one thing he definitely learned was, to win, you have to bring your "A" game!

And maybe a better caller!
