PAU has some great choices. All of which fly extremely well. Check out the site and see what you like.

If you want a 50cc plane that feels like a 40%, the EF Extra 300 is probably the route to go.

3D Hobby Shop 87" Shp Extra is a great plane. It flies very close to how a 40% plane feels.

I had the opportunity to fly the Hanger 9 Carden Yak this past weekend and it has the dampening of the 40 % aircraft I currently fly. It really is great flying airplane.

no 50cc flies like a 40% but some bigger 50cc planes do a good job - the toc yak or the h9 carden is good for sure

One of these threads pops up every week. I have my computer set up to recalibrate its clock every time one of these threads comes out. Bottom line is there are many great choices; do some reading and see what people like. Personally I have a PAU Edge 540 and absolutely love it but there are of course plenty of good airplanes available these days.

John we need to get some pics of formation with our Edges sometime. Kinda like our Cubs, only with planes designed to do that stuff.
