Default Carden Cap 35%: Does a DA100 fit.

Carden Cap 35%: Does a DA100 fit in the cowl without needing to open the cowl at all on the sides? From the pics on the carden website it looks like it does, but I just wanted to confirm.

I had a Carden Cap 35% with a DA-100 and the engine fit entirely inside the cowl from spark-plug to spark-plug.

I loved my 35% Carden Cap. Built it about 8 years ago. In its life it had both a 3w 100 and later a DA 100. Its best 3d maneuver was an inverted harrier. I am a sport flyer - no IMAC, no competition. The Carden is engineered to take a lot of stress, especially the fuselage toward the tail. The weakest part is at the trailing edge of the fuselage. This is where it will likely break when you crash. You can build it a little lighter than the plans call for.

Did yours have a glass fairing at the rear of the turtle deck that goes around either side of the fin?

No. I had to fabricate a balsa part to fill in this area.
