Default 6xi for a small kid?

I have been flying for years and I was very happy the other day when my 9 year old daughter finally asked me to teach her how to fly. She is small and as I stated 9 years old. I fly with a 9303 but she seems to struggle to hold it well because of the thickness of the transmitter. I was thinking that I could get her the Spektrum 6xi because it seems lighter and thinner. I am thinking that with the use of a neck strap she should be able to handle it well and it will buddy up with my 9303. Anyone have any ideas about how to equip a kid?

BTW she has already hijacked my electric Katana S and stated that it is her airplane. Maybe this isn't a good thing after all?

I have a 9 and 6 y/o that use a 6xi every day. They fly their vapor after homework then others on the weekends. It is a great radio for weight due to only 4 alkaline batteries and works very well.
At least she is not asking you to teach her how to beat you in IMAC yet. My 6 y/o has already told me he will beat me soon. Little $h!?.

If the problem is thickness, I wouldn't ofp for a 6i, I have one, and It's oddly thicker than say, a skysport, but then again, ive never owned a 9303.

I have this exact radio that I bought new in Sept for flying park fliers in Iraq. I'm selling it along with a couple spektrum park flier receivers and a generic aluminum hard case.

I'm a softy for kids, so PM me or email: chad@rushmore.com and I'll make you a deal.
