Hello, I just moved to Reedley, CA for work (came straight from the Shootout) and I'm looking for a local place to fly. I'm living in Reedley which is a half hour SE of Fresno. I know there is a nice field on the north side of town closer to Madera, and another one farther south in Bakersfield. The AMA flying site search didn't turn up anything too promising.
Is there anyone on FG that lives in this area? Anyone know of a place to fly around here? thanks, Adam Bry |

Hi Adam - I'm out in Wyoming, but I have been gathering the location of RC fields for a few years now. I found the two fields you mentioned north of Madera and the one near Bakersfield.
I show two more fields closer to you then those. One is north out of Fresno on highway 41 about 12 miles from the junction with highway 180 and then about 3 miles west and then it's about a .4 miles north from there. The coordinates are 36.928934, -119.850405 and the AMA # is 692. They are called the Fresno Radio Modelers. The other field is down south of you just south of Tulare east off of highway 99. I guess when you get down there turn east on E. Foster Dr and then turn south on S Laspina St and head for the Mefford Field Airport. You drive about 1.1 to 1.2 miles and there should be a drive into a business on the east side. The field is on the outer limits of this property in the NW corner. Coordinates to the this field are 36.170770, -119.322937 and the name of the club is the Condors Model Airplane Club and the AMA # is 1786. If you use Google Earth you can download my RC Field Coordinate Location database and take a look for your self if you want. I think last time I checked it had been downloaded over 16200 times so far. I update it with new fields almost weekly and have around 2400 fields located world wide so far. Here is the link to the file if you'd like to try it - http://bbs.keyhole.com/ubb/showthreaded.php?Cat=0&Board=EarthSports&Number=40 2368&fpart=1&PHPSESSID== I just tried to copy the link but the Google Earth site says it's down right now for a few hours. Anyhow, I hope this helps you at least a little in finding a new place to fly, good luck.
