Default needle settings as it gets colder

Question needles on the gas motors do you have to richen them up some as it colder or can you leave them since the carb has a pump and keeps the fuel following as a consistent rate.

Richen quite a bit depending on how cold. If it's at or below 32F I have to go 1/4 to 1/2. The pump just gets the fuel to the carb, and keeps it coming. The needles are a different part of the carb completely (after the metering device).

Richen both needles. I flew last winter in the snow (with skis) and my ZDZ 50 NG needed to be richened a 1/4 to 1/2 turn on both needles. It was between 20-30F outside. It was a blast.

Dino !
Still flying heli's ? What size airplanes are you flying? I still have my R-90 but haven't had it out much. Still looks new (lol) Three years old... I see Ali every so often up at field @ wallkill N.Y. but I haven't been there lately. I'm flying 30, 35, & 42% aircraft. Maybe we can get together and do some flying in the spring? I heard that your hobby shop is closed! That's too bad you had great customer service. Been there ,done that so I understand.......
