The Compy 3.0 260 is one of the BEST airplanes you could get for IMAC. When trimmed out it becomes a lethal IMAC machine.

It's an Extra so it's sleek and a 150 on pipes should provide plenty of power.
The 170 in it will allow you to screw up multiple upline snaps and just keep going.

I personally have a yellow Kiwi scheme and it's one of the BEST color combinations. It presents very well in the air. I always liked the Shulman scheme for presentation also.

I have talked to others that have flown the Krill 39% Katana and all seem to agree it has some weird coupling issues. Given that, some continue to fly it and make it look really good.

The Compy is cheaper now too. I hear the Krill is around $4000 US. The Compy is like $2640 plus shipping.

I think the Krill is a better looking airplane but it costs over 4k, trust me been waiting to order one, but the extra from everything I know and everyone I fly with has much better characteristics for Imac.

I prefer the Katana - I have flown both and own the 39% Katana. I didnt like the Comp 260 at all in IMAC sequence work. The Katana requires 1% to 1.5% mixing for rudder to elevator and aileron. About 12% of throttle to elevator for downline mixing. Everyone who I know who has flown the Katana, loved the way it flies, and most have bought one shortly after. I think they present very well in the air and cuts through the wind very nicely - the 2" thick wings help out alot there - and the fuselage is just as if not more streamlined than the 260. The gear is short - closer to the fuse (just like a pattern plane) to have the LG weight closer to the fuse, not hanging out in the open stream line.

If it were me, I would try and fly each one before making a decison...

Good luck!

I find it interesting that a lot of the "Legends" of IMAC have owned and flown a Krill.... and then get rid of them????

(I think the Krill 3D's better as it has better elev response)

yep - to each his own - those are my personal observations and experience. Cardens are good, Comp Arfs are good, Krills are good, Aeroworks is good - they are all good.

Fly what you like - the pilot makes the plane not the other way around. I think that has been proven with every plane out there. Thats why I suggested he try both before he buys (if he can). One plane that works for you - might not work for another - thank goodness for choices!

Really nice, I like this planes but I think the Composite will be the one. Too much money for the krill and is almost same.
