does DSM2 module work in Futaba 12FG?

Has anyone successfully used the Spectrum DSM2 module in the Futaba 12FG radio?

I've heard that it doesn't work in the 12FG, only in the 12Z and 14MZ.

I'm asking because I've heard conflicting information from these other sources ...

Spektrum doesn't mention the 12FG in their adds for the module. But Horizon told me it would work in the 12FG, but when I asked if they were sure, they didn't respond.

One hobby vendor that sells this module told me it won't work in the 12FG. That the PPM in the 12FG is incompatible with the Spektrum DSM2 module.

Update to my own query, in case it proves helpful to someone else ... I tried the Spektrum "DM9 FUT MZ" module in my new 12FG, using an AR500 rcvr - it works on my workbench - still need to verify in flight.

Yes, it works. There are (at least) 2 ways to get the transmitter to work with the module. The first is to insert the futaba 72mhz module and set up the transmitter in 8 channel ppm mode. Then replace the futaba module with spektrum. The second way, if you only have a FASST module, is to set the transmitter up in student mode, 8 channel, ppm.
