Default 12FG channel grouping - does it matter?

Futaba 12FG groups channels 1-4 and 5-8. Supposedly the channels are sent in groups of 4. I notice that aileron1 and aileron2 are always put into separate groups.

Why does Futaba do this? (any detrimental effect if both ailerons are placed into the same group?)

If you have a 12FG on 72 MHz or 50 MHz, then the groups are 1-2-3, 4-5-6, 7-8-9, 10-11-12. Aileron and Aileron2 are channels 4 & 5, which would be in the same group.

If you have the system on 2.4 GHz, then the different grouping of 1-2-3-4, 5-6-7-8, 9-10-11-12 would apply to helicopters, only.

Thanks for the correction.

Hopefully, someone will be able to tell us why the ailerons are in the same group. IOW, what happens if the ailerons are placed into two different groups?

Tim, my understanding is that the information is sent in groups so you want to put your like control "commands" in the same group to better sync the servos.

still a little confusing.....you say when on 72 or 50Mhz then the grouping is 1-2-3, 4-5-6, 7-8-9 and 10-11-12 , and that is easy enough to understand.
but if on 2.4, then the grouping is 1-2-3-4, 5-6-7-8, 9-10-11-12 and would apply to helicopters only.
so what happened to being on 2.4 with airplanes?
what did i miss?

You missed nothing. We stated that the new grouping applied to helis on 2.4 GHz. The "old" grouping still applies to airplanes on 2.4 GHz.
