Does anyone know how the Hitec 7955's compare to the JR 8611's for centering and resolution?

the 7955's resolution is tremendous. almost twice as good as the old 5955.... i have flown both a bunch and the only difference i see is the slop you get from the 8611a's after several flights. the gears seem to not get sloppy in the hitecs. i don't mean to start a war here, this has merely been my own experience.

Both servos have their advantages. Personal opinion for what its worth...JR has the electronics thing down...Hitec has the gear train thing down...Both however are excellent servos and should give you years...(or the life of the plane) worth of service.

I was recently told that the Newer JR gears are tighter than they used to be and that if you do start to notice slop in them, you can send them back to have the gears replaced free of charge (plus shipping i would assume).
I know it's a hassle, but you might want to look into it... I was having the same dilemma for servos in a new plane. 8611's are going in... Last edited by HK the III Esq.; 10-30-2008 at 03:44 PM. |

I have over 100 flights on my 8711s and they are holding up strong...no slop...or at least none from the gear train...my linkages will be redone...440 threads in 3mm ball links are exactly great...but it is what I had at the time...but have never had a problem with it.

I have 4 7599's and 2 8711's.
Both 8711's jitter on the rudder after several short flights. The 7955's are still smooth on other surfaces and no jitters. The 7955 center much better. no doubt. In a 33% edge 540. There is no slop in any of the linkages. This is my experience. I probably have the first batch as they were on the LHS shelf for some time. I am going to send them both in for repair after I get a few more 7955's. |
