I'm curious to see how your paint job turns out. I'm at a similar stage myself, just need to come up with a design first.

I'm also building one of these. I bought an unfinished one from Chip last weekend after I midaired my e-Pinnacle at the contest. I am also planning on running the Neu F3A motor. It's plenty stiff and should be a fantastic flier. I'll post some build pics to show how I mounted the motor. It might be a couple weeks before I get it installed since I head back to China late next week. In the meantime, make sure you check out Todd Blose's post about this on RCU. Good to see you are going to be flying a pattern ship. Once I started flying my electric F3A machine I haven't touched my 40% Dalton. I'm putting that one up for sale. later. Steve Hannah |

Steve,
Nice to hear from you, but sorry to hear about the mid-air at the contest. I think I heard the Alex from Fliton also had a mid-air at the last contest. Was it the same incident? I spoke to Steve Neu yesterday, and he thinks my motor may be done today. I will be writing an article on Steve Neu, the factory, motors, and in particular the F3A motor, so keep an eye out for it. I have heard the Neu/Passport combo is a great setup. I did read Todd's thread, and found it very useful. I am looking forward to giving pattern a try. Not thinking of selling my ZN-Line though. Hopefully, I'll see you at a contest or two in 2009. I thought I read somewhere that China had closed due to the bad economy, must have been mistaken. LOL!` Too many Steve's in this post.... Yes, that was the same mid-air. Alex was flying Tak Takayama's Focus II.

Yes - I will try the T-cannalizer if the plane needs anything "extra" on it
Here are some pic from today's efforts. I love the scheme!! I will clear it tomorrow.I got smart this time and setup the masking scheme so that I could quickly get to the next painted area, and only had to mask the just-painted area. This is the way to go!! Thanks, Jim

Looking great Jim, I really like the scheme. Wish I had the paint skills you have.
Mine came with the side force generators on the wings, but no "T" Cannalizer. Is that a new option? Have you heard which works better the SFG or "T" Cannalizer? |

Thanks Steve, At this point I will not try the SFG's until later. I posted some comments about the Osmose with and wihtout the T-can on my Osmose thread. I like the effect it had on the plane a lot. So, I'll fly this Pass Port clean, then try it with the T-can later. It is not an option in the kit. I saved the T from my crashed Osmose (RIP).
Jim

Looks great Jim! Gald to see you switch to the basecoat/clear. It's much easier and faster than the single stage paints.
You going to lay the clear down soon?

Thanks Matt. I'm going to eat lunch, make a trip to Home Depot, then shoot clear this Sunday afternoon

I have nothing against people using a T canalizer ( My position on it though is that it contributes nothing for the airplane in my eyes whatsoever). I believe you do not need one on this airplane because as you can see the pass ports fly superb with the winglets. Its your plane though so its your decision. ![]() Matthew Liprie |
