Default JR 9303 uncommanded channel reversal!

Does anyone out in RC Land have any information on, or first hand expierence, with uncommanded channel reversal with the JR 9303 transmitter? Thanks!

I know that is one of the failure that G3 sim can cause when flying but never heard a JR radio doing that on its owne

Did it happen on the ground or in flight?

About 10-12 years a go flying at the contest in midle of the sequence my plane got squirly, I landed and all expo programing was gone from ailerons. This was on my JR PCM 10 S. Never happen again.
Someone at that time told me it could have been caused by Cell phone. CD of the contest was standin behing me may be 10' with cell phone. May be today's cell phones are different.

Here's one that I've never been able to explain. No blame on anything so we won't go there but sharing the mystery is alway fun.

I was flying a 35% Sukhoi using a 9303 tx and a 10 channel receiver, pcm. Dual 8611a servos driving the elevators through a Matchbox. I probably had 40 or so flights on the plane and all had been working quite well. I was doing some reasonably low harrier rolls when one elevator half suddenly reversed direction. Yep, I crashed. Post flight look see said everything was well and good but the film of the event absolutely shows one elevator half going the wrong direction.

Never have figured it out and probably never will.

Funy thing is I reset my radio where it should be and never had problem again, sold the plane almost 300 flights later, still using same receiver. No real clue what made to erase the expo rates in mid flight?

the scary thing is.....NOT KNOWING exactly what happened. Granted , in electronics I( any electronics) weird stuff can happen. In some cases i think some small amount of Interference can be to blame , in other cases chaulk it up to unknown.

pats story is a little weird , after the crash being able to physically see one elevator go the opposite direction.....what the hell!! I saw this exact same thing happen on Ron goods 37.5% TOC yak just two weeks ago. One servo was doing the input that the other was doing , only about 2-3 seconds behind. He had another big yak that had gone in really hard ( just about a total loss) but never had the servo's checked afterwards. he was cussing , and complaining that he wouldn't ever use hitec servo's again. I told him i didn't think there we're anything wrong with Hitec servo's , and put in my $.02 of how i think they are the best there is. So i guess he'll switch back to the JR's , and send them in for gear replacements every 20-30 flights. I think that if an aircraft goes in , HARD , you should get your electronics sent in to be looked at. A previously wrecked servo could probably have some small cracks in the little circut board / hardware and cause all sorts of problems.

Some servos might not act up until you have flown with them for a few minutes due to heat problems. heat expands , making electrical stuff do weird friggin' things.

Transmitters have been known to do the same thing ( act weird) if they have gotten hot or left in the sun as well.

Hi TOM!
Were you running a Matchbox on each elevator half (four elevator servos) or was the Matchbox controlling both elevator halves from one channel? If you were using one channel to control both elevator halves, sounds like a real mystery but if you had seperate channels for each half of the elevator and one reversed I might be able to shed some light on what happened.
