Default anyone ordered xtreme composite direct from Thailand?

Looks like there isn't currently a US distributor and xtreme composite is selling direct to the USA. Has anyone ordered one direct? How was the shipping? What about customs?? Lets hear about your buying experience!

Prepay via international bank to bank fund transfer, long wait for shipping and exorbitant "per kit" shipping charges, no warranty or loss recourse, the usual customs issues without an agent, and the same quality they've always had.

Go for it. Or see one of the Comp Arf distributors and make life simple and pleasant.

Extreme Composites will not improve themselves (which benefits you, the consumer) until the sales cease in the west.

But not to worry, some fool already importing from the area will think they see a business advantage in importing a composite aircraft and jump feet first into the same morass that's been in place for the past 4 years. Just give it a little time, it's happened before.

Doesn't Bob Violet sell Xtreme Composite? I know he did.
I've had the 35% Edge, the 40% Extra and the 44% Edge from Xtreme, great planes all of them. I've also has some Extras from Comp Arf, and I prefer the Edge from Xtreme. But they are pretty much alike in construction and paint/finish. And the price is much lower for a Xtreme model.

Go get one.

Just maidened my 2.6 Edge yesterday. What a great plane. I bought mine from BVM last spring, so I was disappointed when they announced they were no longer distributing the Xtreme Composite planes. I'm concerned about getting replacement parts.

If I need a new wing or stab, I would consider dealing with a distributor in Australia or Europe before contacting Thailand directly. I hope someone in the U.S. picks up the Xtreme Composites line. The quality of their ARF's are as good or even better than Comp-Arf. Price is about the same, but they lack the marketing and customer service they deserve.

Tired, you need to throw away those sour grapes. Yes, we know you think nothing is better than a wood plane with a bunny on it.

The 44% edge has been calling me! I just don't want to have a bunch of hassles with it either not showing up, being broken, or customs charging an arm and a leg. Comp Arf pricing for the larger planes seems to be getting pretty high, most likely because they can charge what they want as they are nearly the only game in town, especially in the larger sizes. It would be nice if someone would pick them up here in the US.

If you can get one, and have the money for it, a 44% is the way to go. Of all the Xtreme planes I've had, I liked the 44% Edge the best. I had 3W 240cc in it, and it was ballistic. 2x JR 8711 on each aileron and one on each elevator, Seiko on the rudder.
