34lbs with a 3w170cs....hooly shiat...apollo 55 for take off!

The Yak 55 was designed in 1980, first flight was in 1981 and was then shown to the rest of the world in 1982 at the World Aerobatic Championships. The Soviet aerobatic team first used the aircraft in 1984 when they won the World Aerobatic Championship. That same year the Soviet woman's aerobatic team took first place flying the Yak-55. The Yak-55M was developed to meet a demand for an even more rapid rate of roll and to counter competition from the rival Sukhoi design studio.

if the Extreme Flight 40%ers are designed as well as their 50cc's then they should be winners! I want the 300!

Humm after sifting thru the numbers...
The Extreme Flight ARF are a bit high in the wingloading department.
The Pilots are coming out better than most.
Cardens are good at IMAC but again hi in wingloading.
Daltons are much better in the wingloading and can do double duty IMAC/3D very well IMHO.

Comp Arf 260 or the Extra 330 is very nice.

3D Hobby shop Slick and 330SC are nice choices also.
A little more complete as an ARF goes wing bags and such.

If price isnt' an issue than you could always have a pro built Carden or Dalton.
I think they both rule.
CompARfs track really nice but tend to be a litle heavy also.

The Pilot Yak (by the numbers ) Has the lowest wingloading going right and the local Chief guys swear by them.

I personally like the Pilot Extra 300 snaps crisply for its size. Tracks as good or better than Compy this is a fact. Think the light wingloading/mass is a benefit.

Sometime most expensive is not always best for application.
If money is no option just buy both and compare for yourself.

Hope this helps,

Ronster

If I was Stinking-Lady-Gaga-rich.....

I would prolly get myself a 3W Yak in TFC Scheme with a 3W170 and L90K's equipped with a Futaba 18MZ and full telemetry..... BLS servos throughout..... White Rose main wheel and Tail wheel assy.... Duralite Regs'n'Batts...

with a great big DW Foamies Sticker on the rudder!!

Or maybe the above with a Compy SX

Extreme Flight is high in wing loading??? It sure doesn't show in the way the plane flies.... they all float like helium filled ballons....

+1. They do a great job at both 3D and IMAC. The Yaks have the edge with 3D and the Extra's are a bit better at IMAC but both do great with either type of flying.
