Godfrey 300. It's DESIGNED to fly the line between IMAC and 3D. It's a truely awesome flying plane. Robert knows what he's doing .

If I were to consider an Edge, I would definetly go with a Carden first over an arf, if you were serious about competing and just have to have an Edge. IMO, from what the podiums tell us, you just cant beat an extra, whether it be a 260/300/330. Look at what the pros fly, I know they can make anything look good, but they are flying a plane for a reason. I like Yaks, but they just arent extremely competetive in IMAC, I also like Ultimates, and you just dont see them being competetive either.JMO

The wings are built up. There are a few foam core wings that came as a short term replacement. All new models are built up wings.

I'm flying the 36% version. Very nice plane.

You also might consider the Comp-Arf MX2 for 3d if that's what your goal is. Put a 3W-170 on it and it's a rocket.

Seriously, that would be waaay overkill. kinda like putting a 440 dodge into a k car.
I have a mx2 with a 3w 157 and it is stupid powerful. almost hard to fly, hovers at 1/4 throttle and rips out of a hover like it was shot from a gun

i love the plane but it has been a challenge to get it tuned for IMAC style flying, it is however, a hodoggers dream. with about 40 flights on it i almost have it tuned in to where i can look like i know what i'm doing now.

JMO, if you want a SERIOUS imac plane, the MX2 is not the choice. want a DECENT all around plane that will 3D with the best of em, MX2 all the way.

I picked a carden. any time my buddies let me fly their cardens i cant believe how smooth they are.

The PAU edge is built up. They had a few wings made with foam for a few people. But the only reason they recalled some of the wings was because the person who had the wing failure was using only 2 servos per aileron. ITs not all about torque from servos. The ailerons are the edge 540 are enourmous and they require the 3 servos to keep it from flexing. Just thoguht i would shed some lgiht. There has not been any other issues with the edge 540 since then. Definetly cant go wrong with them. They are in stock right now.

Yes, THE PAU Edge is THAT good! The wings are built up. Do yourself a favor and read the build threads here. Hopefully Macanaw will chime with his experience with his Edge and IMAC experiences. You will find some VERY competent pilots ranting and raving over this plane. I fly the PAU 36% Edge and it just doesn't disappoint in any arena!!

Regards,

Astro

the superxtra has not really been mentioned... for a combo of both 3d and precision from an arf this one is tough to beat. i absolutely loved mine! wish i hadn't sold her!
