I thought that the title was "if $ were no object" ???? if so I sure as Heck would NOT be buying a Chinese ARF ........I would be buying a competition level KIT like a Godfrey, Carden, Dalton ,our Exclusive Modelbau and having a professional builder like Rob Joyner do the build ..After that I would have some one along the lines of John Nelon or Matty Matt do a jam up covering job, if money were nop object ........I sure as heck would not buy an arf.......$ 1200 in kit ,$1200-2000 into the build , $1200-1800 into covering ,now start to install the electronics and power plant .........if $ were no object .......
my $.02

My personal experience - I have flown (all 40%) Carden 330s, Godfrey 300, Godfrey 260, Comp-arf Superextra, Comp-arf Yak, CA Models Extra 300, Aeroworks Edge 540, Aeroworks Extra 260, Aviation Models Yak - ran through sequence with all of them. All were nice and can provide decent results with proper set-up. But the one that stands out from the pack is the Carden Extra 330s. It is simply amazing. There seems to be alot of buzz about the next greatest arf...which is fine, but a stock 330s with 150-170cc on cans is simply one of the nicest, kindest, most predictable and stable airframes out there. I agree a light plane is good, but my 330s has not gone on a diet and is just amazing.
These are my 2 pennies!

I would go with a custom built 300 Carden
They look great Fly great Lots more durable than the others on the list And have a better resale. Pretty easy decision for me.

As for the Godfrey's
That is one ugly plane And to fly one I think you have to be gay. I know it's just a rumor but I have not seen any evidence to contradict this.

With all due respect Wayne, I don't think they said anything about how it flew....just that it is ugly and only flown by homos. Apparently it will also fit in TBob's Miata should the need arise

![]() ![]() ![]() Its also real funny how people are talking about these China planes and money is no object. Obviously they havent put an ARF up next to a custom built plane. There is no comparison. Come on folks. Its like if someone said you can have either a Lamborghini or this Tempo and you pick the Tempo because gas is cheaper. What kinda **** is that?
