Trust me... if it were me... the flying video could wait a while.... we'd be doing a lot of re-takes trying to get the other video JUST right!

Ahhhh... dreams. OK. back to planes.

Jason - we met this past weekend down in Atlanta and briefly discussed pipes on this plane... I guess it's set up for Greves pipes (very long)... since you know the bottom of the fuse.... do you think a RE3 would work without a lot of butchering, or would you just go with theGreves?

Also, Are you using the full header length (12 inches or so)?

Hey!

It was great to meet you! I'm pretty sure the RE3's would work, however, I would suggest the "new" Greve Pipes!

Also, I'm using just enough header just past the flex part to slide the coupler onto.

Best Wishes,
JN

OK... this plane is undoubtedly one of the best looking biplanes around... and a size that should be awesome for the 150 motors... the previous bipes were too big to have good performance with a 150.. not to mention a couple of performance flaws...

I have several hundred flights on my SX's... and other then being a bit of a slow roller, pretty much a "Plane with no bad Habits".. at least as far as I can tell from a 3D standpoint.... so I would like to ask a few questions about the behavior of the new AW QuickBuild Ultimate Biplane....

1) In inverted harriers, does it have a tendency to "Dig In" at some alpha.... in other words.. does it ever feel like the rudder becomes ineffective and the nose wants to point up and the plane wants to start spinning? (My SX does not do this... my 42% Ulti DID.. Horribly)

2) In a knife edge, is there some angle where it pitches to the nose so abruptly, full 3D Rate elevator will not hold it true? (My SX will go to like 90 degrees sliding sideways and I can easily keep it tracking... my 42% Ulti nearly pushed into an outside snap)

3) Can you do a blowover around 270 degrees to level inverted without tendencies to flat spin? My Ulti would try to go flat if I did a blowover all the way around to level inverted...

My AW 42% Ulti was a really good flying plane other then these three characteristics and it was underpowered with a 150.

Like I said... this new plane looks way better... and being a QB, shouldn't take 65 hours to complete!!!

Thanks

Thanks

Jason has stated that it fly's fine w/150, didnt say w/wo pipes.
It appears to me this one has been stretched as compared to the rest, but maybe its just the difference between a single and a two seater. It is 3.5" longer than the H9, 4.5" less WS but only 60 Sq.In. less wing area and @ the same weight, of course depending on equipment selection. I bet this puppy will roll unbelievably fast.

I bet it weighs a lot less then either the h9 ulti or the original AW (World Modles) 42% Ulti....
My AW was prolly 44 pounds and I had nothing special in it!

I would really enjoy a biplane that flew clean (Like my SX) but still had the Slo-Mo capabilities of the 42% AW!!!

Ok. this thread got really quiet. Did the planes arrive? Or, has someone started another that has all of the good info? I purchased a H9 Ultimate 3 weeks ago and then stumbled on this last week. I have already listed it for sale! When is the ETA?
