We have been drooling over this two place for two years now come on give out the info. I like the new color scheme much more than the red and black.
Here is a pic from the Chickn Wing from last weekend: http://www.flyinggiants.com/forums/f...tml#post607849, there are more pics of it scattered around in the thread.

I'm lovin it! I've got about 10 flights on it now and still dialing it in for next year's sequences. It's the first prototype so it has a little more weight than the production models will, but I can still hit 2 consecutive snaps on a vertical upline and keep climbing. I have it set up with a DA150 on Greve's pipes, Mezlik 30x12 prop, 6014 FAAST receiver and 9155 servo's on all control sufraces. I am running 2 Flight Power 4350 Lipo Packs into a SmartFly Turbo Reg and a Flight Power 3000 pack on Ign. I can basically fly it for about a year before recharging the flight packs (well maybe not quite a year).

If I had to point out a negative it would be getting it ready to fly. In other words, get to the field a little early on competition day cuz there are a few more pieces to bolt on (as in wings, outer plane struts, etc.). Of course that is inherent with any Bipe. The upper cowl half and lower wings have a rather ingenious mounting method so that part is cool.

Jason tells me that the 2nd prototype has a few enhancements over the one that I am flying (less weight, etc.) so I can't wait to see it. If the production models have even a hint more improvements over the prototype I will have to give it two thumbs up. . They should go fast once they start selling them.

I thought that looked like proto #1 was it tough to get balanced. That's the hard part with the bipe's sometimes.

Gorgy,

Great Looking Pics! Is your set up all new or did you pull your stuff of another bird to run this one?

The setup components are a hodge podge of items from previous planes as well as some new items. The DA150 was repaired after crashing it in my GP Extra 330. The Greve's pipes were purchased used. All the harware and servo's came from two previous giant scale planes. The receiver, batteries, regulators and prop are all new. As my friends can attest, I don't throw anything away so I have a very good inventory of peices-parts. That makes it easy to outfit a new plane. I just have to remember where I put stuff <G>.

Balancing was a little tricky for the first flight. I had a different setup than Jason did so I had no idea where the CG should be. The first flight proved that it was tail heavy. I added a little bit of weight to the firewall and that took care of it. Landing this bird is a breeze compared to smaller Ulitmates I've owned in the past. This one practically floats in on final and lands like a dream.

The flying season is over here, crappy weather has set in, and Cheryl and I are moving to a new house in two weeks. It will be next spring before I can fly it again, but I am already looking forward to it.

BTW - I will have pics of the new 150cc Yak scheme up soon. It's all put together with the graphics like the 100cc pictured above, but is blue, white and orange.

Has anyone seen how the top wings are attached to the new Ultimate? I know the bottom wings attach with bolts through the wing into the fuse. I have the Hp Ultimate and absolutely hate the vibrations created by a poorly designed upper wing joint.

AeroWorks needs a Extra 300 in the 150 /170 cc size plane.

How'd everything go at the field today? I think I did the right thing by leaving mine in the car, the wind was just too unpredictable. I took a look at the PA Extra when I got home today... looks like it was just a loose electrical connector from the ESC to the motor. Those connectors are usually rock solid, but I guess one of them was just a little loose... not anymore!
