OK Jorgy... looks like you're the resident expert here! No one reads this thread, so it's just us two
.... how do they get the top wings mounted to the center rib? Hint.. a picture is worth a thousand words!

Oh man, talk about bad timing... We are moving in a few days and everything is packed up, including the camera. Once we get settled in I will post some closeup pics of the wing attachments.

Looks like the little brother to the 150cc was announced on the AW site a few days ago, according to Mark the big plane should show up in a couple of weeks!

I want this plane really badly as well, but $ is tight and I don't want to sell of my other 42%er just to get it.
I think seeing how they come out, weightwise, will be a make or break for me. A stock build with tuned pipes needs to finish out at 41-42 pounds. This plane will need the 170, too, if you plan to compete in any of the upper classes of IMAC.

Just to clarify, this plane does not need to have a 170 to "compete in upper classes". It has more than adequate power with a 150 on pipes just as all the other airplanes with 150's on pipes did last year before we had 170's. The airplane with a 170 will come out weighing around 39-40 lbs on pipes with a simplistic radio setup. When I say simplistic I mean no power box, no NiMH batteries. Just a receiver, two batteries (ion or li-po) for the receiver and your servos.
I just finished my new one at 39 3/4 lbs which will be absolutely ballistic on a 170. JN |

Jason you can't argue with BW on weight. It will take years to break him of his High Altitude worries about weight.

Jason... can you comment on how the top wing goes together... is it a better design than the rattling design on H9?

Well, I'm a wait stickler too. Probably even more so. In any case, I actually flew the Unlimited sequence from last year with the Ultimate and a DA-150 for power out in Denver (5000 + feet) a few months back and it got through it just fine.
The top wing has one Carbon tube and two aluminum (may be carbon now) anti rotation tubes that connect the two wing halves. Each wing half has two aluminum plates that hang below the wing to connect to the cabains. The cabains sandwich the four plates together with a 10x32 bolt on front and back for an easy assembly, not wearing fit. I have many flights on two of them with zero slop! One of the main crucial differences between this Ultimate and the H9 Ultimate is the 9% Airfoil that it has. In my opinion, the hanger 9 airfoil is too thick thus making it very tricky to do positive snaps. With the 9% airfoil on the Aeroworks 20-300 it snaps positive and negative just like a monoplane. About 2 years ago I wanted to do a biplane that was similar to the Ultimate 10-300s, but not. I found the this airplane in a magazine and I said "that's the one" I contacted the owner and aquired some three views. I was very eager to get it to market so it was the first one but I also wanted to make it right and so did Rocco! Unfortunately in the mean time there was a much smaller version that came to market. You could imagine my disappointment. I was rather shocked. I can promise you that this airplane will be well worth the wait if you're a bipe fan. Yes, I am also running a 30 x 12 Meijlik prop with the "New" and "improved" Greves pipes! Thanks and let me know if you have any more questions. JN |

All I did was design the plane. Rocco and Aeroworks deserves the real credit here. He's the one that brings the airplane to life. I can truly say that there isn't an ARF Manufacturer in the world that can compete with him.
