thanks for the detailed description of the wings. I opted for a H9 about six months ago (literally a week before Mark posted the initial pics of the AW bipe).. I've been kicking myself ever since! I've had 4 AW planes, each was the best made best flying plane I've ever owned. Only 1 of them bit the dirt (ignition interference)... the others are in new owners' hands now, still performing well.
It looks like the cockpit on this bipe is a little more low-profiled also... that should help significantly with coupling. If the H9 ever bites it, I know exactly where my 170 is going. Last edited by reyn3545; 12-22-2008 at 07:09 PM. |

Thanks for the extra info Jason. Last time I talked to Rocco and kim about this plane (the last TAS) they said it was a 40-42 pound plane on pipes. That's why I thought it would need the 170.
Plus, many of us aren't as good as some of the pros at energy retention on upline snaps and such, so the extra power is a bit of a crutch, but an effective one for many of us. And, I am spoiled with my sub-38 pound QB 260 on pipes and a 150. I would want the same vertical authority it has. Yes, the 150 will pull it, but the 170 is the better choice for sure, IMO.

Your right under that info for sure. However, that new Ultimate (not the one I brought to Tucson) is actually about 3 punds lighter. We made some airframe mods, etc....
I'm not going to argue with you on power, we can always use more of that ![]() Have a good New Years, Best Wishes, JN |

You too. I hope to see some video of you flying some precision sequence maneuvers with this Ultimate. We all know the Ultimate will 3D just fine, but I really can't wait to see how it snaps - that'll be the selling point for sure!

so is there a link to view this machine?. I love the Ultimate and am always looking at a different new version. I have a 42% modeltech version and am looking for a bigger one.

Honestly, I think the snaps are this planes best feature! In addition to how well it can 3D, snaps and anything rolling will blow your socks off!

Are the interplane struts tied to L-type brackets mounted on the surface of the wing or am I just not seeing the setup correctly? Bill |
