Default US Moki Dealer

Anyone have any experience with this vendor?

http://www.hobbypeople.net/gallery/214218.asp

The fact that there's no "contact us" and that the last time I tried (about a week ago) the phone number was disconnected, makes me a "wittle" hesitant to click the "buy" button.

I need a Moki 2.1 for my 80" sundowner!

Thanks.

Used to be Hobby Shack until Paul Bender sold out. A little weak on customer service now but they pretty much control the Moki engine line here in the U.S.

Haven't bought anything from them in about a year or so, but have done quite a bit of business w/ them in years preceeding...never had any problems.

Did you get your Moki/Mark yet?

HobbyPeople (Global Hobbies) is the US importer/distributor for Moki engines. They are sold under the Mark name in the US to avoid issues with the original importer, who owns the Moki trademark in the US. Instead of emailing them, why not simply call them? I have found them to be very responsive.

Mark is not Moki, it is copy of Moki and I guess some parts are interchangeble. If you put the Mark 2.1 and Moki 2.1 next to each other you will see the diference.

They come from the same factory and are indeed the same engine. Sorry to disappoint you. Dave Patrick imported them for a while as well with a blue head as I recall.

The owner of the trademark is GERARD ENTERPRISES, although he has not imported or sold them for quite a few years...he just threatens to sue anybody who uses the Moki name in the US.

I did not know this. I have a Moki 1.80 and it is the best two stroke glow engine I have ever owned. It ain't for sale know what I mean ? I thought they were the same though. Good to know.

Maybe I should have read the whole thread before comment ? Don't remember where I got the information but I have flown off the field where they (Morris Hobbies) fly.

I used to have a Moki 1.8 that I gave to a friend. That thing would start by itself if I just looked at it really hard (grin). Of course, that was after gallons and gallons of break in. Mixed my own 0% fuel for that baby.

I know Gerard and I was one of his first dealers when he got the Moiki line from Hungary. Like I ask before have you set the two engines next to each other? internal parts may match, but my Moki 2.1 does not look like the Mark engine.
I have sold and own lot of Moki engines, and I think it was one of the best large glow engine on the market,
Improvements in gas engines made it almost absolete, specialy with cost of glow fuel has been high.
