Probably a simple question - but as this is my first flat bottomed tank, I'll ask.
Installing a 16 oz Du-Bro tank in my 100" Hangar 9 Super Cub. The mounting platform is flat - so is the tank bottom. Do I need to "wrap" the tank in foam like my older glow planes (which have round or rounded tanks and a bulkhead to go through), or just zip tie it to the platform. Zenoah G26 if it makes a difference.

Damn - two answers in less than 5 minutes
(Thanks!)I thought I was ready to run it up tonight, but just realized that I haven't installed the fuel filter or the fill "T" and fuel dot.

Actually, both of those guys have it right. Place a piece of foam under the tank, then 'Velcro" it to the mounting platform.

Please don't forget a good filter. Those thingies that people use with glow engines are not examples of good filters. A filtered clunk will save us having to answer questions about a sputtering engine on throttle up later. Use another one just like it in the fuel can and forget about dirt introduced to the engine by the fuel for a year or so.

Ahh, Tired Old Man - I remember you from the RCGF thread
![]() What would you consider to be a _good_ filter? Filtered clunk? I bought a pair of filters from Chief - I'll have to look up what they were. I'll see if my Jersey fuel can has a filter on the clunk

Don's Hobby Shop sells some nice filtered clunks. I have been using them for several years with excellent results.

This should cover the answer. Can be had at average saw and mower shops everywhere.

Filtered clunk is only useful where you have a three line tank. Which I use anyway, but nearly all people I know use two.
