I have stripped the covering off the rudder and repaired it. I am supposed to get a new rudder and some orange covering from the manufacturer. Meanwhile the assembly continues. The landing gear is on and the tail wheel is on so she is on the rubber. The landing gear is tall and narrow, I hope it is OK. The engine will be a Kroma 180 and fits nicely in the cowl. I wish they had not opened the servo openings in the tail. I won't be using six servos, I would rather open what I need.

DeWayne
Are the stabs removeable on the updated version? The way the stabs fit, and the vertical also, I think will not look real good. The vertical could be installed before covering and the stabs could be removeable.
I will make comments on things I think could be improved knowing that they may already be changed. Anything you specifically want to know, feel free to ask.

I havent owned the 100cc version but I do own the 50cc version of this model from CH model. Its a fantastic plane, one of the favourites for sure, especially with smoke on board. The only thing that Ive changed on it was the undercarriage, original was too weak so put a metal set on, much better now.
If the 100cc is just a larger version of the 50cc (looks like it) then i would really recommend it.

If you can get a booth and fly out, I could bring the plane up and let you use it for the show. I have had a few more minor problems with the assembly. The airfoil shape of the ailerons does not match the shape of the wings, the ailerons are much thicker at the wing tips. The mounting holes for the cowl do not line up. And the worst thing was the landing gear, there is section of ply that sticks up from the floor that causes the landing gear not to sit flat. That is all fixed now, except for the ailerons, I am going see how that affects flight.

Bob-

Thanks for the offer .. we might look hard at that show and will be in touch..

As for the opportunities you have identified in your direct delivery CH models plane we did notice a few of these and have been assured by the owner that CH would adhere to a higher level of modeling in the production of the KnoxHobbies version and we have noticed the bar being raised on the last ones delivered to us. We have negotiated with them and received their commitment in building a high end line of models with tons of improvements for everyone to enjoy at a reasonable price.

This is a prime case of why Knoxhobbies decided to bring to the table the US distributor attribute of the operation to the Equation. The US distributorship allows us to capture opportunities and customer feedback and harness it into a better end user model.

And as always it goes with out saying KnoxHobbies has and will stand behind all their products 100% in the past present and future.

-Again Bob I know when you see the Improved version you will greatly impressed in this already stellar model.

More progress, the control surfaces are hinged. The ailerons have varying gaps but actually came out better than I had thought.

DeWayne
It is going pretty well, I have all the control horns done except the rudder (still waiting for new rudder). Control rods are done. Need more 7955 servos. Next will be setting up the throttle servo and fuel tank. Merry Christmas and I hope everything goes well in the new year!
