Matt just called in, and he is just getting ready to climb in the Cap580 for his first round of the Competition. He sent me a picture of his helmet with the FlyingGiants.com logo on the top of his helmet visor! It looks great and will show up great on TV! If I can figure out how to get the picture from my Cell phone to the thread...I will!

Hey every body, thanks for all the good wishes! Been busy down here in JAX with all the prep for the first of the 12 shows in the new ACAP series. All looks good so far. The competitionis going to be good here I think. the box here is VERY small, giving the bi-plane guys an advantage. We'll see.
just announced today: ACAP will air on ESPN!!! three shows a week, for 12 weeks! This should start mid to late summer and run through the end of the series in October. This is great news for all of us here. The helmet visor look great sporting the Flying Giants.com logo!! thanks to Aero Graphix!! Keep an eye on the progress here this weekend at www.acapshows.com. For me, I'm just going to hang back, see who does what and how it scores. If I finish top half, I;ll be happy. Then I'll put togther the winning deal at the second contest in Winston-salem later this month. Don;t take this as happy with second place...I;m going all out and giving it my all in the true FG HUCKIN way! Again, thanks for all the support and if you get to one of the events, be sure to let me know you're a Fg member! Oh ya....Earle....Pat....Chaz (chuck, Charles) good to hear from you! I'll be in touch soon. Haven';t been home is 3 weeks now, and won;t be for 2 more...I'll settle down and call when i can. VERY good to hear from you. If anybody has any cool ideas for a sequence...let me know....SOOOON! Matt |

Hey fellow Hucksters!
just got home from jacksonville. It was a good time and it would appear as if the folks at ACAP are the real deal. Word is, ESPN just signed on to air 3 hours a week come mid summer for each event. That is big news. The Friday practice day was well worth the efforts. They were able to locate and fix some problems. Saturday went better, but still had a few small glitches, but those too were fixed by Sunday. The weather Saturady was not great, we flew round #1, but the rain started juts before round #2, so it was scrubbed. I placed 4th on the first round. Sunday brought in clear skys and warm temps. Sunday 1st round I placed 3rd and moved up to 3rd overall. My second round Sunday was a true FLYING GIANTS flight! I took first place. I was not able to move up overall, but the gap is very small. This weekend brought back memmories of CASPA a few years back. It really makes you step up the your game. My flying got better 10 fold by the 3rd round. Off to Winston-Salem May 6-7. I have a much better idea of how to approach the contest now and look to be moving up in the coming weeks. I was able to sport the FG logo on my visor for the in-cockpit filming. It looked great and should be seen soon on ESPN!! BIFF, MAX & co. you owe me big time! Stay tuned! Off to work in the AM...... |
