Default Hailing All Troubleshooting Gurus...

Please refer to the attached photo. Way down inside the fuselage of my Aeroworks 1.20 Yak 54, the antenna tube crosses right in front of one of the tubes that houses the rudder wire (on the left side as view from the forward end of the aircraft). Do you folks have any idea what I can use to reach way in there and cut the antenna tube from in front of the rudder wire exit tube?

Right now, if I were to run the rudder wire for my pull-pull system, the left wire would rub against the antenna tube; big time. I am really worried about this interference. It is so far down into the fuselage that it will be difficult to reach. I hope one of you can help.

I know the photo is not great, and I apologize for that. I hope I have given enough of a look that you can lend a hand.

Thank you!!!

You could probably just give a good tug on the tube and pull it out, cut it, and slide it back in and put a drop of CA on the front hole. Should be good to go.

Not sure your antenna would reach that far? see how far it goes and trim the tube back.

Dude, you're making this way harder than it actually is. Just run your pull-pull wires and your antenna down the appropriate tubes and you will see that everything will be fine.

Use Kevlar cable instead of the wire. I am using it on a 30% yak and it is holding up good.

If you truly feel the need to get rid of the tube a pencil tip soldering iron zip tied to a long wooded dowel would definately do the trick. Just don't contact anything you want to keep.

The beauty is that I do not even need the antenna tube (2.4 GHz is wonderful)

I like the pencil solder tip idea, and you're right...be careful not to touch anything I want to keep

Thank you!!

Got it!!

It took a little patience but I inserted an exacto knife through one of the elevator servo cutouts in the fuselage and cut the tube close to the aft exit end. Then, I grabbed the tube up at the forward end and turned it in circles until the epoxy broke free and pulled it out.

I feel better now that it is not in the way...

Thank you all for your feedback!!
