Default Shulman Aviation Exhila!

Here's a vid of the new Shulman Aviation Exhila 3D ARF. That's my buddy Blake Hilson on the sticks huckin' it up. Designed by Jason Shulman for 3D fun. Very docile on low rates, turn up the rates and get Exhilirated! Will do wild tumbling manuevers and anything else you throw at it. The large wheels and ample landing gear make ground handling a snap. For use with 3s 1300+mah sized packs and the new Fury 28/27-1022 brushless outrunner or any other similar sized motor that can spin a 10 x 4.7SF to 11 x 7 DD prop. Very easy for beginners to learn 3D and rewarding for those more advanced pilots. Slows to a crawl for high alpha hijinx or let it rip for some tight waterfalls, spins, and tumbles.

If you want a chuck it and huck it plane here ya' go. I'm not nearly the pilot Blake is but I had a blast with the beta test model. Very easy to get away with mistakes as the plane is really lite on the wing and with a good power system it has the momentum to do some crazy 3D tumbles and KE stuff. The landing gear is well thought out too. Most smallish electrics don't seem to like grass runways too much but the larger tires and wider stance make ground handling a breeze. Does nice harrier landings too

Here's a pic of the Orange/White/Green one. The blue one above was just a prototype color scheme. I'm looking for a pic of the production Red/White/Purple one but I don't think we have one. The red was changed to a solid red instead of transparent (like the orange). And sorry about the website, it's still in the process of being built.

I know it looks very similar to Gary's Mini-E3D and I even told him that we were making our profile into a 'fused' version when I saw his. He laughed...

I was thinking they've been around for a while, unless this is a re-design or something.

Wasn't there a vid from a few years ago of Jason hovering one through the arches of a McDonald's sign?

The Exhila is in stock and available.

History: I went back and looked from when it all started and the first 'production' pics of the original version (flat fuse profile) were dated March of 03. There are still a few of these around, and I even have 4 kits here in my closet. After this run, we were not sure where Shulman Aviation was headed, so we never reordered any of the profile Exhila's.
In 2004 was the first ETOC, and not knowing much about foamies, I figured a foam version of the Exhila would be fine. The 'Guppy' as it was names, flew fine, but the 6mm build didn't lend itself to the slow flight needed in the small gym. But it worked fine and I didn't hit anyone
After a few years, we decided it was time to start doing Shulman Aviation a bit more serious, so in Dec of 06, the drawings for the Exhila came back out and a narrow fuselage was added. In Jan of 07, I flew the first prototype in China and worked on a few other planes.
Now we're in Nov of 08 and we are finally selling them. It was a long wait, but I'm very pleased with how they turned out.

Thanks for the update, I thought the model name sounded familiar.

Hijack: I got to hang in your pit for a bit at the '96 (I think, might have been '98) TOC. I was there with a notorious one-eyed drunken Cajun who knew your family back in Florida. Either your dad or grand dad invited us to hop the fence and hang on the grass. Man that seems like a long time ago.

I just cracked open the new version of the Exhila that Jason was kind enough to bring to the field with him today, and all i can say is "SWEET".I have been flying the older pro-file version for some time now and just dig it,but i felt it was time to step up to the big league and get the newer version since Jason just got a boat load of them in.The new plane is much larger then the pro-file and should only come in 2 or 3oz heavier with a slightly larger power set-up.I am about to dig in and get going on this badd boy.....SEE YEAH
