I have not acually done it - I hear its pretty easy. Anybody done this? Any risks? Ronster |

Ronster,
I put four 8611's and sets of gears on my night stand before I went to bed last night. I woke up this morning and they were done......... (Did them in my sleep...... get it? LOL!) Go for it. Nothing difficult on these. WT ![]()

It's WAY harder to change the gears on a little foamy size servo that a big one. I've never done an 8611, but I've done a bucketful of 8411's and it's a snap. All except that dang little o-ring between the case sections.

I have done it on HS 5945's and even converted servos from one torque rating to another by just the gears. Its not really bad at all. Just make sure you have a good work table and some type of area where small parts wont get lost.

Man I didn't know you could fix sloppy servo's. I have been just throwing them away.

I figured it would be cheaper than sending them to Horizon.. Plus I think they are more than three years old. I have 7 of them that are sloppy.

I had to replace the gear train in four of my 8611's this past summer.I just took my time and if I ran into any issues I had three other's to look at for reference.
It's a straight forward job. |

I was kidding. I need to repair a few myself. Glad to hear it is easy.
