The plane is still my computer wallpaper. I look at it every time I sit down at the desk. Looks really really good. Just wish it did not cost what is probably worth. It has things I don't need which adds to the cost like a pipe tunnel. But dang sure looks good.

I noticed it is labled a 300, but is looks just like the Carden midwing 330s. 300s did not have counter balances on the elevators..and this 300 does...This is what I like about it. I like the counter balances...I cant think of any other difference between the real 300 and 330 other than the obvious..(motor size)..which in this hobby does not really matter...I will call mine an Extra 100 or 150/170...

I love how the 300L looks. Low profile and sleek lines.

It is a 300. The 330 was a one-off mod of the 300L, which is a low wing, two place design. The 300 is a two place midwing, which is what this. The counterbalances are an Aeroworks thing. Their 260 also has counterbalances even though no version of the full scale did. Yes, the counterbalances look a little better, but their affect on flight performance is negligible. The h9 260 doesn't have them and it is an awesome precision and 3D machine(quality doesn't compare to AW though).

Now, how hard would it be to put a single seat canopy/hatch assembly on this thing and make it a hot rod instead of the family sedan ? For a two seater it does seem to have an abbreviated canopy which is good.

It has my favorite two basic colors Red on White with my favorite main trim Black, it has a LOT going for it. Silver could just go away along with it's entire addition to the trim lines. Damn if it were 15 years ago I'd have it. No doubt about it.

Great looking plane and I'm sure the construction is nothing less than top notch.
Can't wait to see one on the flightline.
Simple !! Extras RULE and all other aircraft try to look different and fly as well.

Never could understand that though because Extras look the sleekest and meanest along with being the the best. And they are the Caddy of full scale in comfort so I've been told.

Not sure if they ever existed in full scale, but I used to fly for an R/C airshow team (Team Extra) and we had pirate models 300's with single place cockpits and they were called 300 Specials.

EA-300SP
The EA-300SP is Extra’s single-seat version of the EA-300LP. The newest model of the aerobatic series, the EA-300SP is for the serious aerobatic and sport pilot. The aircraft features a lightweight oil cooling system, a sport carbon-fiber instrument panel, a lightweight avionics package and a Teflon hose kit with integrated fire sleeves. This latest model has all the design and built-in safety features of its predecessors, and has the unmatched JAA- and FAA-certification load factor to plus/minus 10G’s. It’s a thrilling ride.

EA-300LP
The newest addition to Extra’s aerobatic aircraft, the EA-300LP, was designed with high performance in mind. Extra’s engineers have structurally enhanced this two-seater by using a lightweight carbon-fiber honeycomb composite in the cowling. Other lightweight improvements give pilots a weight savings of up to 30 pounds and superior and safe performance in the high G-force environment of unlimited-category flight. Standard features in the EA-300LP also include two wingtip sighting devices and a smoke system with automatic filling system. This is the perfect plane for the pilot who wants the ultimate in extraordinary performance.

EA-300L
Without a doubt, the EA-300L is the premiere aerobatic, sport and professional aircraft on the market today. Extra’s 300L is the only certified unlimited-category aerobatic aircraft approved to plus/minus 10G’s. The aerodynamically agile design provides for 400 degree per second roll rates and higher cruising speeds with sacrificing docile handling and responsiveness. If touring is more your speed, cruising at 450 nm at 170kts with an unbelievable panoramic view makes a weekend trip unforgettable.

Hmmm I sure hope they bring out that yellow and white scheme that was labeled for 50ccc but showed 100cc in it.

Looks to me like the one they showed at TAS was on standard DA Mufflers, can anyone verify?
