Just got my hands on a NIB Hanger9 Cap, can anyone tell me if the MVVS 58 will have stuff to fly this plane or do i need to go bigger. I would like to try my hand at IMAC.

I'd go with an 80/85 cc single. I.E. ZDZ 80, DA 85, 3W 85. I don't think the MVVS 58 would be enough.

If you have the motor try it. You can aways plug and redrill your firewall. I have always wondered how this motor would pull a lightweight 100 inch plane.

Hi, thanks, Yes I have the MVVS 58, some say it has the power of most 80, I know this cap will fly with the Z 60 and GT80, The MVVS58 has more power than both of these two. so it should fly it. can only try it and if I dont like it go bigger.

I've heard of it flying on the 58 but I think it would be a little bit under powered.

No replacement for displacement. MVVS wishes it had the power of an 80. No doubt it's a stump puller but not 80cc worth. I agree with the pack, go bigger. I don't think it's worth setting up all the linkage when you know it won't pull it with authority. If you did a lot of crazy stuff like carbon everything, no wheel pants, no spinner, one rx battery etc...you'd probbaly get down to 20 pounds. But it wouldn't be too pretty and 2 batt's are better for that size.
PS: Maybe if you stripped the covering and took a Dremmel to the air frame? It's been done with 40%'rs with good results but they didn't use a 100cc. |

Tom from WH fly a 33% 260 on the MVVS 58. He said it was enough for sport type flying but not 3D. I imagine the H9 Cap could come out about the same weight and perhaps similar results.
However if you just want to get in the air and you have the gear give it a go! Like the other post said you can always re-drill your firewall. |

I have flown one on a evolution 58 weighed in at just under 20lbs. It had one 8711 for both elevators one per aileron and one on the rudder. It flew very good but it required just about full throttle to hover it.

a cap with an 80 is just bad to the bone talk about very fast verticle and power to spare at under 22 lbs no need to mess around with re-inventing the wheel go with what proven.....

Yeah Mvvs 80 or evolution 80 rock on. But my H9 Carden Yak at 18 pounds with a evolution 58 hovers just a few clicks above idle. So I bet it would still be fun in the cap at 20-22 pounds.
