Richo,

But could you imagine stacking one in front of that crowd mate.

Poor skinny little bugger would never live it down.

yep.... it was almost all over red rover on the Sunday !

Saturday was awesome ..... 60,000 punters all licking ice creams while I blasted around the sky as a kick off to the lunchtime slot .... the crowd was so quiet I could literally here em all gasp when I started throwing it about low level on knife egde, high G turns etc. Onto 3D stuff, and with no wind at all, so I was able to sit it a few inches off the tarmac and walk it down the line a bit. All in a days work, after I landed managed to pull up a deck chair with the lads, the chilly bin full of beers, and watch the rest of the show ... it was a case of Mustang from the left ... poontang from the right !

Sunday was not quite a good..... Got near the end of the flight (Comp-Arf 3m Extra, all decked out in Red Bull colours etc), coming down out of some 3d tumbling blender type thing and it was all over the show. Felt like some one had a hold of the tail end or something with a big bungie. It was coming down low too .... the rudder had jammed hard over during the tumble, and it wasn't coming back. It nearly went into the Pyro's on the far side of the run way while I tried to get it under control....anyway to cut a long story short, In a really deep side slip I landed it off the far end of the runway, way off in the distance, and it disappeared out of site as it touched down. I expected it to ground loop / flip over as soon as it touched down, but when we raced over to get it off the airfeild, it was just sitting there with a duff spat and a it of damage to the u/c on one side ..... bugger all damage, so pretty blooy lucky ! .... as for the crowd they thought it was all part of the show, and couldn't figure out why I had landed so far away.

What happened .... 3 out of 4 8511's on the Rudder welded shut at 45 degree deflection. Pulled one apart and the motor would not move....bring on the SWB Block and Tackle Rudder setup till we figure this one out....
