Default Shop Remodel

Well, this isn't the usual FG style build thread but I'm about as proud of it as the stuff that will come out of it. Just finished remodeling my shop this weekend and now have more storage and work space then I know what to do with.

Unfortunately I no longer have any excuses for not finishing the half dozen or so projects sitting in the next room

Very very nice shop. I'd be proud of that for sure! There something about a nice shop that makes you want to spend time in it doing nothing and still enjoy being in it. Happy building!

That is very nice...May I suggest some type of ventil;ation???Several types come to mind...a bathroom vent/fan would work if you made a small booth to spray in...exit to the outdoors thru a small micron sized furnace filter....you and the family will be very happy ...I noticed the joists run the proper way so ypou can run 6-8 inch ducting no prob. The unit from Fan Tech is pricy but is the shizzle...fer sure...very quiet and remote mounted with rubber iso feet...I installed a few of these when they first came out and every inspector that saw htem wanted to find out mnore...If you do heavy spraying then a TEFC type motor with cage would work best...probably one rated for hazardous locations...Enjoy the space...I finished my cousins work shop and we installed cat 5e cable,TVcable, phone line, three 8 ft HO Flourescents,12 or so 75 watt recessed cans, several circuirts rated at 15amps ea...He LOVES his new shop!!!I am in the process of making his new bench...should be SHWEET!!!\Mike Sthe INCREDABLE Staudman...Yes dear.,..hes real...not like that Santa Claus crap...

OOPS...I forgot to add some type of air filtration...Ridgid makes a nice unit for under 400.00...Sounds pricy till you get allergic to balsa dust or ca fumes..or worse...Mike

One step ahead of you buddy . Not yet installed is a 1800 CFM ventilation fan that will be drawing thru a 16x24 furnace filter and piped to the back of the house via 8" duct. Also, back in the corner behind the bandsaw is a Delta dust controll system. It is currently plumbed to the bandsaw, disk sander, and floor blast gate (real slick for cleaning up the floor). It will soon be hooked up to an oscillating spindel sander and small cabinet saw.

Hey Matt,
I haven't been hitting the swaps over that way the last couple years. If you know when they are shoot me a PM or something and I'll try to head over.

We are working on some indoor venues for this winter so you'll have to come join us here in DSM too.

BTW - Your Dalton looks sweet!! Will I see that baby at the 09 Nall?

That shop looks amazing. I really like all of the table space. That comes in really handy. The cabinets will work great too.

All i have is a ping pong table and a couple of shelves.

Keep the pics coming!
