Lots of elevator throw!

The video is posted. It's a video of the very first flight. (So be kind)
I had a computer crash and lost flights 2 - 5.
We felt very comfortable on the first flight, but we also moved the CG back to the recommended 3D CG right after thsi flight. This tightened up the harriers and made anything post stall much easier.

I understand that the designers just enlarged there reactor .46 but why not lenthen the droop on the cowl.??
Perhaps it needs a engine with a longer lower end/prop hub.... Perhaps the Fuji 43 or a Rev 50 would do better....

I just can't see a 50cc aerobat with a engine basically hanging in the wind on the front of the plane....
I am aware that even other IMAC 50cc planes have some of the engines head seemingly hanging down to the pavement but they could have done better... especially being that they are not designing a scale plane and really could have done what ever they wanted and they advertised the plane with the DA 50 in it!...

So is this plane any diff. than the U-can-do giant ???
The Giant U-can-do will be axed this year, and this plane obviously replaces it, but are the flying char. any better????

Did you use a matchbox to gang the double wing servos?

I have a seven channel radio could I accomplish the same thing with extra y harnesses and reversers?

You shouldn't need a matchbox. Put 1 wing on Ailerons with a Y harness and the other wing in Aux1 with a Y harness.

I personally used 4 channels on my 12 Z.
No match box, just set the end points on each channel.

How did the landing gear fare?

They look like the same POS I have on my Great lanes Cap 232, very spongy which is Ok if you come in like a butterfly but fail central otherwise....

Well, this thread looks kinda dead....I'll ask anyway. The review said that upright harriers were enjoyable....but in the featured video it looked like there was quite a bit of wing rock. I saw the wind sock hanging (no wind gusting) and wondered about this. I'm thinking of buying one, but I'm not interested if it won't upright harrier without excessive aileron batting. Anybody have any input on this?

I would not hesitate to say that upright harriers are awesome. Well at least they are with the model I have flown. DA 50 with everything by the instructions. Very solid in any High Alpha flight.

Thanks for the response....that helps on my decision. I was planning on the DL-50....can't imagine much difference. Do you remember where the cg was set?

the stock landing gear is good as long as you dont pancake it when your new da 50 dies on you hovering 50 ft off the ground. I love the plane i am still dialing in mine but loved the first 6 flights on it. the air frame is quiet strong as i have tested it mine came in under 15 lb. it hovers between 1/4 and 1/2 throttle. and i might even say that it flies truely foamieish.
