Final IMAC event 2008 here in Chile.

Well I just got in the door and boy what a great day. A great turn out of pilots and equipment, the wind stayed down and sky was cloudless. Come to think of it the face feels rather cooked from the sun despite lashings of 50+ sun screen.

I have a few photos here as I had to run from the BBQ after the event. Lima Peru is calling and I need to travel there tonight so I missed the beers and steaks etc. Wait till you see the steaks. Phew!!!! USDA prime Angus. More on the steaks later, I have to run but here are a few photos to start with.

I hope the rest of the guys will join in and post some stories as well.

Just so you dont think the boats are out of place, that is the lagoon in front of the runway and they were holding the National championships this weekend.

The other photo shows the helicopter field in the distance and in front of that are the three car, buggy courses.

Well my friends, as everybody has said, the Imac season here in Chile came to an end, and what an END !!!
After the contest all 15 pilots and some of their relatives came to my place to have a BBQ, we really had a great time at the field and here at home.
I'm pretty sure that Andres and all od=f us will make a hell of a contest next year, hopefully starting with a South American Imac contest starting March 10 so, if you guys are interesting in coming to learn a compete, you're invited, and if you just want to come ans have some BBQ and famous Red wines you are also welcome!!!

Look like you guys had a great time!!!!! Don, I don't know you but we have Flrida Jets, Venice IMAC and Electro Flight Expo -Phoenix from 03-05 through 03/16. It will be great if you guys in Chile can move the event to the weekend of the 21st or the 28th of March! I will like to attend! What about you?

Awesome event. Looks like you guys are working hard to develop IMAC in Chile, and also are having a great time.

Carlos has a good point. Here for us in Brazil we are going to have an imac contest march 13-15. It will be great if you can move this date to the week Carlos suggested. May be this way, the chance for we from Brazil to attend this event, will be bigger.

Hola a Todos les cuento que vamos a tener un evento que se ha repetido por 3 años ya con mucho éxito, con figuras invitadas con Jason Shulman, Frank Noll, Chip Hyde, Alan Zabo entre otros, bueno este año queremos comenzar con una clinica profesional de Imac y una competencia simple, para darle movimiento a la categoria en Sud America, estoy seguro que Kiwi y Sakymaster68 estran presentes, propongan ideas para ver como hacemos que todos puedan viajar a nuestro pais y conocer nuestro CACH ( Club de aeromodelos de chile ).

Las fechas para este año son la semana del 9 al 14 de Marzo del 2009.

Guys there is also little or no room to reconsider the dates at this late stage. Fortunately Chile is becoming an aeroplane mad country and the airforce promote all sorts of sports associated with it, right down to plastic models etc.

This year we have the show to contend with also in March and two weeks after the Santiago airshow, so its nuts to the grinder in March getting people, planes etc to the right places at the right times.
