Default Buzzing servos

Hello guys,

i've just finished my F90 with an saito 125, but something worries me...

My aileron servos Futaba S9202 are buzzing when they are in the neutral position, so they aren't pulling or pushing anything.

They even buzz with the pushrods disconnected??

When I do a servo test, they work fine without any hesitation but they are buzzing.

Anyone has an idea??

Dear regards,

Jean-Luc

Well they stay in their center point, but they keep on buzzing.

Strange thing, never happened before.

I just got back seven hi tech servo's that buzzed all the time. Hi tech told me the amplifiers were bad. I bought the servo's used . So maybe you have bad amplifiers. I am sure sombody smarter than I, knows what is wrong with them. Don't be tempted to fly them!

sometimes if the control horn isn't tight that can cause buzzing as the arm hangs slightly causing strain on the servo.

If your that worried.....just send em in to be checked......what's 2 weeks for peice of mind?

Just very gently put a little pressure on the servo arm to see if it stops. The best way is connect the aileron in your case and lift it and lower it slightly to see if the noise goes away. Often that buzzing or in some cases squeal is just from the weight of the servo arm or control surface hanging and creating a tiny amount of load.

If it goes away with the load removed it will be fine to fly.

If it does not go away send them in for a medical.

Most of my digital servo's buzz, I have digital servo's from graupner and hitec. Never worried me, I think it's an normal behaviour. Untill now never had a servo failure.

Just bought my first 8611A servos and they make a funky noise which I am not used to. but they all make it, and I know digitals make a little noise so I am not worried. Just never paid much attention to other servos before.
Glad your issues are sorted out. Fly that sucker.

Try to untighten the horn screw a bit. It might be too tight.

Well guess what...

I went to the airfield to break the engine in and talked to some pilots, they said it
was ok to fly it.

After a short break-in period, I flew the F90 still very rich and at half throttle max.

It flies great and after a short first flight I set my throws to the max and reduced the Expo (I do not like it to be to soft).

Again It flew great. I made about 5 or 6 flights and I'm impressed .It's like a dream to fly with that combo.

Great plane,great engine....I must be dreaming !!!!

Hope the weather is gone stay good for everyone!!
