Bill Hempel is my favorite pilot right now, just for his daring to try such huge planes.
I'd like to mention Josh Glavin. He's not the "best" pilot out there, but he is a really nice guy. He took the time at MIFF in KC to mess with my Dad's GWS Beaver and get it flying right for the first time. He is solely responsible for getting my Dad back into RC, for which I thank him. |

Jason Shulman is by far my favorite but with an honorable mention to Jesky and Leseberg because I think they are the best of my generation.

I'd have to say Leseberg is a pretty good frickin' pilot, and since I'm from Canada, Ivan Kristensen (hope I spelled that right) is blessed with good thumbs as well!

For the current time period I think it's QQ hands down. Successful in Pattern/IMAC/3D and flies like no one else. He'll be 1 or 2 at the next worlds.
I'm too young to judge any other generation, but I think I'd give it to Hanno Pretner in any case. He is a legend.

Thanks for your support boys!!! I'm STOKED to see the names you guys are listing. You guys never fail to restore my faith in humanity! What I like most is naming a guy then giving reasons to support your thought. Aviation savvy??? HELL YEAH!!

Have you guys ever saw a video (probably super 8!) of Hanno Prettner fly? He was the first to do a rolling circle! At that time the TOC was being flown with pattern planes! Hanno was one of the first to really understand what a rudder was for. I'm not casting my vote for him,,just throwing out a bit of history!

I feel that I need to pull my name from the hat. I can honestly say those "other" pilots are truly not even in the same ball park as me. My skills can never ever be compared to the other guys and NOBODY can argue that!!!
