Biff,
Did you forget the KE spin that Hanno busted out in the 80's?? Everyone thought that he had a weight on a servo that could be droped to the tail. Basicly anything to do with the rudder Hanno discovered and performed in competion. Someone posted that Hanno was the only one to win the TOC four times. QQ has won it 4 times just not in a row. Three but not four. QQ really brought in the 3-D aspect of it also. Just to remind the young guys work can get you there to. Steve Stricker 1996 showed how hard work can achive results! All around you have to give it to Chip. He has a world championship in two diffrent types of flight. Natural talent is Jason Shulman without a doubt. He is unreal in how ill preped he can be and still kick ass. Man there are so many to think of. CPLR has a nice trophy wall also. Jason Danhakl |

Its hard to say who the best is or was. So many flyers do great things, one guy might be better at one thing than the other, and vice versa. The issue with being the best though, is like every thing else in life.....someone will always be better. Thats just the nature of people to want to do better than others. I may never see a player as good as Michael Jordan again in my lifetime, but imagine sooner or later someone even better will come along (hopefully not a steroid junkie).

QQ! He invented 3D as we know it today. I which i still had the tape from when QQ first flew at the TOC, he had a red, blue and white ultimate and his free style was on a league of it's own.

I thinks it been all said before but for my two cents worth I have to agree with the following.
Hanno Prettner probably the father of precision aerobatics and the guy who lead the rest to develop 3D as we know it today. Jason Schulman for the being the best unprepped casual guy out there who builds a plane the day before the masters and gets second with it. (2004) QQ for being the great master of 3D and taking it to the level we see now. Chip for being the best all round RC pilot to date. You can give him three servos, an rx, motor and batt pack and an old empty pizza box and he will fly the pants off it in two hours. You can pass him a heli, a glider, a foamie or anything that flys and he turns it inside out. Oh and he likes RC cars as well. But I suppose its all in the mind, the guy who impresses you one day is rarely forgotten. Even if they dont reach the top. Kiwi |

We dont get to see all those pilots you guys get to see down here in Australia.
The best RC pilot I have ever seen for real, (Not on video) is good ol' Bogan aka Frazer Briggs the Jandals wearer!! |

My vote will go to Hanno Prettner, no matter where in the WORLD you mention his name in the RC arena people will know he was THE MAN!
Not far after is Chip Hyde, world known RC bad ass. Curtis Youngblood hell of a heli guy! There after is all the super duper pilots that you see competing today... Attached a picture of two legends sharing one passion, Senna & Prettner. / Niklas |

My vote would go to Chip Hyde simply because he dominated in so many diciplines, along with QQ, and Frazer Briggs for just being so good and so approachable. Mentions also to the likes of Mark Leesberg, Andrew Jesky, Jason Schulman, and really any of the guys who are at the top of the tree. They are all sensational pilots.

Definately best pilots of all time are Hanno Pretner and QQ. Currently, I have to say Mark Leseberg.
