A pattern guy in our club has old home videos of prettner flying here in aus in the masters about 70 s vintage i was going to convert them to dvd for him but the quality was very very poor to do the conversion.

As a child growing up (dont know if i am there yet) all the model mags it was all pretner then came the then new young bloods chip hyde etc. then to the latter QQ CLPR etc as time goes on new young guns will come to take the place of chip QQ Clpr.

The thread who is the greatest model pilot in reality they all are as if it wasnt for them all we would not have the equipment nor the imagination to fly the way we fly today and to expect great things in the future.

I have always been amazed at watching the precision and creativity of Quique in any competition, he surely influences the way I fly.

Although a definite thumbs up for Andrew Jesky

. He is a precise in his: pattern, 3D flight routines and is always entertaining to watch. His ability combine music in his routines is a talent that is hard to come by as well. Many good pilots at last years XFC championship but I personally felt his 3D flights were far above the rest. Such talent at such a young age, definitely has many years to define himself as an all time great!

It would be hard to choose just one, and call that one the best. But my favorite right now would be Mark Leseberg.

Chip Hyde
Jason Shulman
Christophe Paysant LeRoux

But I have NEVER seen ANY of them throw an aircraft around the way Curtis Youngblood does!!!

Ok guys, maybe the best ever in long run (what you would call all time) would be some of the guys that have been mentioned.

The best RC Pilot in my opinion is Kyle Woyshnis.

But hey, what do I know.

Yah man Joe Hunt is one bad motha hucker. Smokin Joe is just as crazy also. I like the guys who push their planes to the limits. I am sure its a lot easier when you get free planes. For the rest of us we need to get tougher planes or have a few back ups...lol.

I dont know about an all out who is best but in general:

Bill Hempel
Chip Hyde
Jason Shulman
Mark L.

Kyle Woyshnis
Chris Maier

I have to admit though my introduction to 3D flying was Somenzini. I think he is still the man at 3D flying.
