Default Seagull Superstar First real flight!

I just had to tell everyone how great the seagull superstar 120 is!

I just flew it twice today as it was starting to get dark by the time i got to the field.
The previous flight i had was a nightmare, it was tail heavy and i had hardly any elevator response.

so the take off....

I pointed her into the wind and off she went without a hitch! YAY! i flew for about 10mins and decided to land, they really dont float well these planes (just a warning)! I checked all the nuts and bolts, which were all loose! i'm running a 26cc gas engine (CRRC PRO). engines brilliant but could do with a little tuning.

2nd flight took off great then realised i had EXP on 86% on the elevators! ARRGGHH so a managed to flick the switch off i put the rates up on the ailerons and elevators.... what a blast!

Although the plane doesnt go like a bullet it is really scale looking especially with low rates. This is my first gasser and i am really impressed with the noise and the whole fell of the plane. i'm spinning an 18x6 prop but i have got a 16x10 that i'm gunna try next week!

Final landing and it all went pear shaped! came in a bit heavy (having to dodge a row of trees a rugby post and a football goal, she hit the ground stopped the engine bent the undercarriage and snapped the tail wheel, oh and pulled the hinges out of the rudder!

Its a great plane and highly reccommended, although if you want all out thrill i'd suggest going for an engine larger than a 26cc! but great for sport pilots and (semi) 3D.

Anyone else had great fun with this model? i really need to explore its full potential now!

I have the same plane with a XYZ 50 in it... It is amazing but if it gets too slow it will tip stall. Have fun with yours.

The full scale superstar will reside in the Kalamazoo Air meuseum very soon. Its being taken apart as we speak. Its been sitting in our hangar for 20 years. Still looks pretty much the same. It hasnt had the sun burst wing for a long time, and the cowl has been changed
