I just got off the phone with an FBI Field Agent inquiring about suspicious individuals aproaching the club for instruction on how to fly R/C. I can't beleive that it's come to this. Just curious if this is a national thing or just focused on our region.

I'm the only "suspicious individual" that files at my field. . . no one else gets to hold that title.

No but that might explain the cars that follow me everywhere. Seriously though that has the potential to put some serious regulations on our hobby depending on who and what those individuals were up to.

DAVE THAT SUCKS...
Perhaps I should leave my Turban and AK-47 at home when we fly at Mercer. That might have helped cause the problem

That's what happens when they start using our hobby for warfare. Pretty soon the only stick time I'll get is for the military. I hope they let me do some 3D.

Well. . you know it HAD to happen eventually. . what with all the technology for point-point autopilots guided by GPS, how 'stealthy" a wooden/covering/CF model plane could be made (literally invisible to radar), and how quiet they are with a good muffler system. . and then throw in the possible flight characteristics of a proper design. I would not be surprised if the military and CIA are playing around with throw away 10' drones for close in support and surveillance. They alreadyhave the "Dragon Eye" electric ARF that they use, as well as a couple of other designs they are playing with. If we could do it with off the shelf products, ya think maybe someone else has already tried it?
The technology for GPS guidance has been around for about 5 years or more. . the rest is just common sense and basic engineering. Heck, at the Atlanta Huckfest we had some University Graduate people playing with a sr. Telemaster set up for autonomous flight and 900mhz control. when someone kicked their power cord and unplugged their telemtry controller, the plane crashed, but still they were doing it, right therein front of everyone. Come to think of it. . the guy in charge of the "Project" had black hair. . Eastern features, and a beard, and never took his hat off. . . . .but an American accent . I think.

think the military has some 40% carden's ready for all of us regular r/c guys to fly for them? i just hope they don't put warheads in them. it would be a shame to blow one of those up.
