Have you looked at a DR Hobbies?

Doug is a good guy. I looked at his 40% he has been flying regularly for 6 years and it still looks sharp. I'm thinking I may get one for my next plane.

Also look at the PAU 43% Edge. Alot of NW guys plan to fly this in IMAC in 09 and a few flew it in 08. It doesn't tend to have the typical characteristics of Edges. It does the stall just fine and snaps are clean.

No matter if you pick that plane or the ones on your list, they are all great airplanes capable of doing both IMAC and 3D. I'd say you can't go wrong with any of them. Since they are all ARFs you should look at this....

-Cost of kit (including what you need to finish it)
-Type of Hardware (will it need to be replaced for better stuff)
-Customer Service (I think its a wash here as everyone mentioned is good)
-Actual weights of the planes not MFG listings

And most important........Looks. What do you like? Single seat, dual seat, round cowl flat cowl, and Covering Scheme.

All these planes are going to fly great.

Aeroworks is a good choice. EF Extras are going to be hard to get...so good luck with that one. Composite-Arf or Carden would be a good choice too. Most of reputable brands are going to have a good flying aircraft...When ever a question like this is posted...all of responses are simply opinions and personal preferences. But since you are asking...

Probably the best value and best built of the ARFs...Aeroworks..especially since they are on sale now. I may buy one and set it a side just to have. EF Extras are going to be awesome but they are like the EF 100cc Yak...will be hard to get. EF planes are built lite..they fly like foamies..Aeroworks are like Cardens...they are flying tanks..but they fly so well it does not matter. They dont fly like a tank..they are just built like one. Jtec...is an awesome plane if you can get over the way the canopy looks like it was an after thought. QQ aircraft are always good..built lite and fly faster than most Yaks..due to thin airfoil..but they require a little more assembly than the EF and Aeroworks.

I guess my point is..if Carden or Compys are not part of the choices...you are going to have a hard time finding a better plane than Aeroworks or Extreme Flight. Good luck...do your homework and do what you think is right..

For IMAC I would expect the 3 choices listed would benefit from a 170 cc motor... at least for the higher classes...

For a plane that would be a rocket with the 150 cc motor... the ZN-Line Extra....
