T-bob, by that admission, just because you flew a 35% 260 and it didn't fly well doesn't mean that all the 35% of that airframe fly bad. Better yet what does the 35% 260 have to do with the 40% Yak that is one of his choices?

Not bashing you (much anyway). Any plane is a good or bad choice. Something may be tweaked or slightly heavier than another of the same choice. They are ARF's not custom builds.

Of your choices the AW is the best choice for combination of these.....

quality, service, fit, color schemes, price, already proven in both 3D IMAC, availability (meaning you can get one today), time to get from your doorstep to the air (QB series)

Now if you go outside your list or are not planning on buying anything in the next month or 2 than your choices open up.

But again........Any plane on your list is going to do just fine "IF YOU PRACTICE". It all comes down to how much you (or your dad) is willing to spend and what color scheme, airplane shape you like.

YOU CANNOT GO WRONG WITH ANY PLANE ON YOUR LIST OR SEVERAL OF THE OTHERS LISTED THAT WERE NOT ON YOUR LIST

I'm not bashing AW but I would fly any plane first before dropping all that cash.

Just my humble opinion.

I would still buy this first

BBW and DSP it's probably the nicest 40% 260 on the planet.

Can I fly it first?? Just kidding

That used airframe cost double or more than the options in the pole!! Maybe you missed that part??? I am personally in the same boat as the OP, I am looking for an ARF around $2k. I am looking at these options along with the Dietrich Slick. If I were to spend around $4k I would be looking at Carden, Dalton, Comps, etc...

And I am not looking for a train set!!! Thank you mr T. Bob

I don't understand why people that do not add useful information continue to post on the boards and criticize and belittle people. Why not just move on and let the rest of us in peace??

I fly for fun. I do not compete. I just can not justify a $4k plus airframe. I don't think I am wasting most peoples time asking about AeroWorks, Dietrich, QQ, J-Tec, EF, PAU, etc.. which I would guess are mentioned in more that 70% of the GS threads on here.

So if this is wasting your time TBob quit reading this thread!!

And while a BBW Carden is the creme de la creme of Cardens...3700 for an airframe that has 300 flights on it seems just a tad on the steep side..Im not knocking the plane...no doubt it is probably one of the best flying Cardens there is...and at the very least the best built one...its not a $3700 airframe.

There are still many great new ARFs under the 2K mark as well as some amazing bargains right now if you are willing to buy used. I just ordered one of those sub-2K ARFs and am looking forward to many enjoyable hours flying IMAC and 3D with it next summer.

Maybe not but my witty banter watching other people fly (especially Cub and Warbird pilots) makes it all worthwhile.
