Well guys this one is in the books, what a great event, and facility beyond belief and great hosts. This will be an annual event to make plans around. They used the Expo II hall in Wichita, Kansas. It was connected to the Hyatt Downtown, never had to go outside!! Ken Stitt of the Clearview Field was the mastermind of this event. www.clearviewfield.com
There was Micro-Mini flight area, Heli zones and general planes and 3D areas, plenty of room for all to fly and it was non stop from 7:30 am till midnight. There was a complete vendor area with 20+ booths, Food courts, face painting for kids and Yep Santa was there Saturday handing out candy! Raffles ran all day for pilot and spectator prizes. We had live broadcast for one of the TV stations, plus coverage from the other 2 major stations! They had a great spectator area with bleachers and a safety net! There they had an F3P contest put together by Mike, Dana and Heather from Fancy Foam. There was a Freestyle Contest, Heli Smackdown, Pylon Race and all out Combat! Winners: Jason Noll - Pylon Brian Chitty - Combat Jamie Robertson - Heli Smackdown Rick Chitty - F3P-C Andrew Jesky - F3P-A Brandon Chitty - Freestyle Pilots traveled form New Jersey, Florida, Carolinas, Ohio, Michigan, Illinois, Texas, Arkansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, Tennessee, California and South Dakota, as well as many locals from all over Kansas! FG had good representation! Put this on your calendar for next year! Kitman

Jared would you believe I have never flown a plane indoors. I'm a total newbe to indoor flying. I know it would be a blast, just don't know where to do it at. I have a bunch of micro servos, Etc. Is there a good indoor foamy for an E-flite brushless 370 motor. I have had only a couple of foamies.

Starts there and keeps on going. Mike Hammel has a bunch of video up on YouTube. I have a couple of videos on YouTube as well as a photoset from the event on Flickr. Brian Chitty has some YouTube video as well.

This event really got me interested in Foam again. I was never really not interested in foam, foam is fun! We just don't have anywhere to fly indoors around here so I had been focusing on outdoor airplanes and events. Really though, if you haven't been to a foamy indoor event you are missing out. I had people telling me this was more fun for them that the St Louis Huckfest. There is just a different atmosphere; the pilots are a little younger, everyone is helping everyone else with tools and glue, crashes are expected and result in cheers!
If you have never been to a foamy event or flown indoors you owe it to yourself to make this one. Here are 10 things I can remember form this event: 1.) Brandon Chitty shredding his friends prop jet after he promised to take good care of it. He ran it into a Helicopter and it turned into snow. 2.) Doing a tail slide with the Yak55 and scaring myself silly. 3.) Letting Josh Price fly my Yak55 and making the mistake of telling him it would do a tail slide from the roof to the floor. He pulled out at the last second, the wings bent like a suspension bridge. Josh promptly goes off to the Fancy Foam booth to get one! 4.) The Kid that was doing the helicopter demos. I don't remember his name but he was Bad A$$. 5.) Seeing Rudy fly for the first time indoors and get hooked on foam 6.) Dan Bierly's stupid fast Pylon racer. I mean you had to be there, zoooom. 7.) Watching Jason and Andrew fly formation and their freestyle demo. 8.) Getting a look at the micro airplanes. Those things are cool! 9.) Fun with helium balloons. We popped them, made a blimp, hoisted an airplane up to the rafters as a target, lost 3 airplanes in the ceiling. Dude for some reason helium balloons makes grown men act like little kids. 10.) Watching all the top level pilots fly F3P and freestyle. 11.) Drinking with friends after hours at the sports bar.
