You know I'm not sure. I can tell you that for $99 the Phase 3 F-16 is worth the money at Hobby People.

Things you need to complete it
-2 servos
-1 battery (I reccommend the TP V3 Extreme 2300 3s) You need something with higher C's so that it doesn't get warm and gives you that extra punch.
-a bit of plywood (you need to re-enforce the stab area as its prone to breaking if you don't.

This F-16 uses Elevons to fly. It comes all white and is easily painted as you can see below. No landing gear included though.

I have the Phase 3 F-16 and have flown the E-Flite F-16 and I can tell you the Phase 3 flys circles around the E-Flite F-16. Much lighter, faster and alot faster build. But if you want landing gear go with the E-Flite.

Uh..........I have no clue.

The motor and ESC (30amp) come with the plane. I simply borrowed a few 15-20c 3s packs and flew. The plane flew but it was like flying the old Wattage Mig 15 where you had almost no thrust and had to watch your bank angle in the turns or it felt like it would stall. I also noticed after a 6min flight the battery was pretty warm (almost hot). The ESC was still cool to the touch though.

I then borrowed the Thunderpower V2 extreme pack from some guys at the field that had the same plane. They said it would make a difference. It sure did. Hand launches were easier and the plane actually could go vertical. Its still slightly underpowered as you don't have unlimited vertical but that would require a new motor/ESC combo and my wallet says NO right now. I easily get 7mins on the TP pack and its cool to the touch afterward.

RCG has a 200 page thread on upgrading the plane if folks are interested. They have got it going 150mph + I think.

I tried a cheapo 4cell pack and the plane was an absolute rocket. But the ESC quit after 30 secs and I had to recycle the throttle to get it to come back. The ESC was also warm when it got back after a quick 2min flight. I was thinking of upgrading the ESC only, but I've heard the motor will fry also on a 4s pack.

Get the Phase 3 F-16! Much better flier than the e-flite f16...

Another plus is phase 3 sells the plane without power system for less money, In case something happens to your F16 your not stuck buying another kit and paying for motor/ecs/batt again.

I am not sure on the Eflight F16, I was between that and Hobby-Lobby's F16 and I went with the HL one. I opted for the bigger size and better looks. I just got mine yesterday, but UPS decided to deliver it with a giant hole in the box crushing many of the parts inside so it will be going back. Has anyone had any contact with HL's F16??

The E-Flite F16 is OK, but if you want performance you will need to spend more money. If you buy the newer E Flite 480 Fan and place in the F16 you get the performance. But that will bring your price up higher. If they wouldn’t have included the fan and motor in the kit this would make more sense. But adding $79 for a better fan, and 4S brings the price up way to high for a foam kit. The Phase 3 is a better choice.

Yup the Phaze 3 is much better of a deal then the Eflight. I put my eflight against my friends Phaze 3 and it blew mine away. I had the Phaze 3 and crashed on a high speed pass.. I'm going to see if the motor and fan from the Phaze 3 will fit it..
Now I'm not sure, but is it the less fan blades the faster it is? The Eflight has 5 and the Phaze 3 has 3..

It is blade design, inlet, and exhaust, and of course watts and RPM that makes it faster. I have an electrifly L-39 with an Alfa 5 blade fan and it does every bit of 100mph, probably more like 110+. Of course, pushing 600+ watts is helping too!
