Re: New Carden Aircraft offering!!

Hey, BTW bodywerks is my new hero. He came out Sunday afternoon with his H9 35% 260 and his E-Flite Mini-Ultra Stick. He flew the Mini-US better than I have seen anyone fly it, doing inverted low pass and scraping the rudder over and over. BUT his grand finale was an inverted low pass where the rudder hit and stuck, and the nose was held off the ground buy the tips of the prop. He must have gone 75 feet down the runway like that and then got it to climb back out. Wish I had a video of that. It was AWESOME!!! It isnt possible, glad there were other witnesses.

I was there! I lost this thread a while back and didn't realize he would be out there or I might have brought the camera. I say "might", because I am not known for taking videos
Anyway, the plane was a little short on power with the DA 200 JK!
Like a proper maiden, they spent a good deal of time experrimenting with CG, seeing how it snapped, rolled, flew inverted, stalled, and of course how it hovered. A very impressive plane to say the least, but it needs the 200 or a piped 150/170 for sure - it's a HUGE beast!
It was cool to see Brian and Mike out there, although Mike and I were never properly introduced (they didn't need to be bothered). Mike got to see me fly his own-design 260 through the intermediate sequence and that was neat for me - and he saw that 60-foot inverted 3pt. (the rudder and both prop tips)touch and go with the Ultra stick!

That is what you meant right?

That works for me and I promise I wont remove the motor during the week to put in my plane.
Or, we can swap motors during rounds. You fly first, I'll fly last. We'll have plenty of time.

Re: New Carden Aircraft offering!!

OK, Dennis said someone commented to him that the airplane didnt seem that much bigger than the AW 150cc sized Extra 260. My only reply was that whoever said that has obviously never seen the airplane in person. (AW is about 90 squares bigger than Carden's 40% 260 and nearly 300 squares smaller than this one) So, to put the size of the airplane into perspective for those who dont know Brian or myself, I'm 5'-10" and Brian is 6'-8"(+)

Mike,

Congrats on the new plane. It looks awesome and I'm sure it flies even better.
Have you let your grandmother fly it yet? What did she think? All kidding aside, I can't wait to see you fly it.

Yes I did. Granny liked it, but the hovering shots are in Brians camera and he hasnt e-mailed them to me yet.

Cant wait till the weather is good and we can all fly so it can be seen.

Just sitting out there, it obviously looked big, but I can see how one would comment that it is not much bigger than the AW 42% - that it, until you were to put them side by side
Did Brian happen to get a picture of it sitting next to that Compy 260? Because it dwarfed that plane!
