Default NITRO CMP QUEST 50 CG

HAS ANYONE BUILT THE CMP QUEST 50? I HAVE MINE ASSEMBLED AND AM HAVING TROUBLE WITH THE CG. IT LOOKS LIKE ITS GOING TO TAKE ABOUT 8 OUNCES OF WEIGHT IN THE NOSE TO BALANCE IT. I HAVE A THUNDERTIGER PRO 46 ON IT. THE COWL WILL NOT ALLOW THE ENGINE TO MOUNT ANY FURTHER FORWARD. I DON'T LIKE TO PUT WEIGHT ON THE PROP NUT BECAUSE OF THE BEARINGS. THIS IS AN EXTREMELY LIGHT PLANE, BUT IF YOU HAVE TO ADD ALL THAT WEIGHT TO BALANCE IT. THE ADVANTAGE IS LOST. I CAN TELL THAT THE TAIL MOUNTED SERVOS HAVE A LOT TO DO WITH IT, BUT THAT IS NOT SUBJECT TO CHANGE. THERE DOESN'T SEEM TO BE ANYTHING TO MOVE FORWARD AND I DON'T WANT TO ADD A TON OF LEAD TO A LIGHT PLANE. HELP!!!!

Default Re: NITRO CMP QUEST 50 CG

Hi,

I have my new Quest 50 from CMPro almost ready for test flight. My Quest is equiped with OS-55 engine, Futaba 3003 standard servos, 6V- 2300mAh battery, receiver Futaba 617 (7ch, 2,4GHz), prpeller 13x5.

My CG is 115 mm - not 95-105 mm as stated in the manual. The CG information have been found from different forums. 110 -130 mm are nomally recommended.

This CG was achive by moving the battery close, behand to the fuel tank.

Q: Do anyone have advice about low-rate throws for ailerons, rudder and elevator? It is not in the manual

I lika this plane so far. I have only changed the tail wheel to a Sullivan.
