Lawnboy Ashless for $351.68/gallon
I was wandering around in my LHS yesterday and lo and behold, Lawnboy oil on the shelf. 4 ounce plastic bottle. "Only $10.99"!!
The Albertson's grocery store near my house has it too, the 8 ounce cans. $2.49 each. That is only $39.84/gallon!!! Good store (Gyro in Laguna Hills, CA), but seriously, $10.99 for 4 ounces of Lawnboy??? Makes gasoline look cheap!!

On a similar note, does anyone know what the right price for smoke oil should be? One hobby shop in my area sells it for $12.99 a gal. Another sells it for $24.99. I fail to see the logic.

Smoke oil had a double increase when gas was $150 a barrel. The normal price was 11.99-13.99 depending where you got it from. Tower had it spike to 24.99 a couple of months ago. I have not heard if it has slid back with oil prices going back down.
I try to buy it in the 5gal container as it ends up cheaper in the long run. If you know enough guys get the 55gal drum and split it up....cheaper still

yeah, if you really checked into it, i bet the LHS will sell several items for substantially more than we can get them at another type of store! it's like buying milk at the gas station vs. the grocery store.

Hardware is the same deal. People will pay more because either it is more convenient for them to get everything they need in one stop versus several stores, or they just don't know the differences in pricing at different outlets.
