Well.......
Today is another great day for the B-36 project. I have been needing to "flip" the plane to work on bottom sheeting, and "systems", bomb bays, engine nacelles, ESC, motors, and stuff. This morning I "flipped" the plane. With my wife, and little girl, son was not here, and we did it with out breaking a thing. This was the hardest thing to do as my fuse is still very fragile. The look on my girls face says it all, even at 7 she knew we could trash the whole project with one bad move. I will tell you one cool thing, the bird is very nose heavy as she should be, but WOW, the tail of the fuse is light so far.

This project has aged me, but wow what a great project.

Taking a late lunch,
Been meaning to post this info, just not sure how to make it clear, but I will give it my best. FIRST please don't let this derail this thread, this is IMHO.

While setting up my radio I have had many challenges, the 8 A123 and their wiring, how and where to place my RX's, and just stuff. I have to be able to service and check all components that make up my control system.

This entire system has had me scratching my head, the other day I lost my mind trying to understand why one RX worked when another one wouldn't. Then I realized it was total pilot error. See my JR 922 are designed for 2 batteries, but won't work with one dead battery plug into it by itself, duh. My RX#1 had 2 A-123 in it, one with a charge, and one (I didn't know) I had ran all the way down. So when I unplugged the dead battery and plugged into RX#2 I got nothing. In my mind I thought since RX#1 was working that both batteries were fine. Well 2 hours later after pulling all my wiring out and checking everything I saw my little blue light on my #2RX was not on. Then it hit me that that battery must be dead. Sure enough I check and it was very low. Now what is even more unbelievable to me is that my other 922 with only one battery was driving my test rig of 4 servos at 13' of wire. I am so happy I went 3 years ago to JR, everything I have used to date is spot on perfect for this project. IMHO the 922 is the best RX made. My 9303 is so cool. I have my park flier biplane on it, my parkzone F4U, and my big honking B-36D. Now I won't throw Futaba completely under the bus, but my 9303 is 110% easier to use, and the manual is written so even my wife can tell me what I am doing wrong, I know I should look in the manual. But to have zero stress about the radio system is unreal. I know allot of you use JR, well I haven't for that long, but boy is it rock solid stuff.

So in the end I have 3 R922 binded and working off 6 A123, and they all work 110% perfect together. My 4th R922 is for the second radio, lights, door, bomb release, stuff. I have now tested 4 servos at 13' under load and not a single twitch. Keep in mind the most I will ever have on a channel per R922 is 2 servos. When done I will have on RX's1,2,3 over 30 servos, and on RX4 10.

Ok, hope all this made sense. The controls on this project are enough to make you nuts, not to mention I am going to have 20k when done, but I am so excited on how well all this JR stuff works right out of the box. I have a box full of old radio stuff that is junk and does not work anymore, and none of it says JR.

20K, man... I can remember when my budget was 6k-8k, I still have about 1K in chargers to buy, $750 in spinners, another 500 or so for another TX, and about 1.2K in batteries (2 sets of flight packs= 12 lipos).

LOL, hope you enjoyed my book.

Sometimes you just have to say F$^& it and build it just because it needs to be done.
I try not to think about the thousands of bucks I have spent.

I would do it again and I probably will.

You've aged a certain amount building this thing for sure. You will double that aging the day of the maiden just during the takeoff roll.

I've changed my mind, I don't want to be there for the maiden. A later flight for sure. Not the first. My knees knock just thinking about it. Cannot WAIT for the Vid though !!!
