I'm next in line with my ex and ex mother-in-law. Your going to be busy Dag with all this testing as I am sure the line may get long!

Ok,
So I am parodied, I wanted one last time to make sure my door geometry was correct. So I pulled all my parts from my CAD drawings that I cut the parts from. As you can see it all fits, except the bottom drawing, the swing arm impacts the other arm, I have fixed that and I am good to go.

It looks like you could do it fairly easily with one servo if you used a three piece linkage connected to one servo going down, instead of two servos with single link arms. That would save some weight and complexity. Are you using two servos for the doors for a reason? (Probably..)

A single servo just won't work with the geometry. If you used a split linkage connecting both systems the implied forces are not the same as the servo swing around it's radius. If it were a linear servo it would work.

About testing and radio stuff.

And as many of you may not know is that for years I had flown another radio brand and switched to JR for the project. I have a 9303 and it rules, I have two park fliers, and my B-36 on it, it is the most rock solid radio I have owned.

But more about testing....

There is still a little part of me that wonders if any design gremlins are lurking in the shadows. I know I will hit my weight goal now, and I am so happy that words can't describe it. The weight gremlin is dead. But this plane has sooooo many systems, and things that just have to work right. All my preliminary testing of the radio gear has gone perfect, I am so psyched how well my radio system is going in. These JR R922 are the best thing made, except maybe the 12 channel version. I won't completely slam Futaba, but, when I was getting my 50% Pitt ready to fly I had all kinds of little things I had to tweak out, just seemed to be one thing after another until I was ready to actually fly. And their servos sucked at the time, sorry to digress, all my JR stuff has just plugged and played. 110% top notch stuff.

My testing once the plane is done is as follows:
1. Control surfaces- testing and duty cycling.
2. Flaps systems- testing and duty cycling.
3. Landing Gear- system testing and duty cycling (gear, gear doors, gear brakes, gear steering).
4. Power plant- testing (each motor, 6 motor testing, combination of motor testing for harmonics, full power range testing).
5. Mock flight- testing of full systems operating.
6. Taxi Testing- Slow speed, high speed, brakes, aborted take off with max brakes (2 separate test days needed, and more if problems arise).

She might be done by Toledo, but will need at least 2-3 more weeks of testing before she flies, just about time for Joe Nall.

Taking a quick lunch,
This is what I tested last night, it is 5mm, and 4 chip Oznium Led's. I got a quote for my lighting system from a company that make RC lighting systems, they wanted over $750.00 to supply a lighting system for my B-36, with these I will spend less than $150.00 for the entire system I am making.
