Default Re: 257" B-36D Scratch build.

I am 100% committed to getting this thing in the air, and that is an order from my wife. You may say to yourself, wow what a great wife. The story behind her saying that is a big one, and as usual with this project it includes throwing more money at it.

Yesterday I traded in my car hauler trailer for a beautiful 16' "V" nose trailer. With the "V" I get 36" more for my B-36D. So if I take 15'9" and add 36" I have 225", and with a 183" long plane I am set. Now here is another cool thing, I have to by Mirror Extensions, that's right baby, I got a 8' wide trailer so my H-stab can be 110% scale, and a permanent part of the fuse. I also ordered the trailer with 6" more height.

But..... I have only so much money I can spend on this baby, and I may have to slow down the build a bit to afford to complete her, not much a month or so.

I am so psyched about my trailer.

I assume the articulated doors were needed so they could open them on the ground and load the bombs, eh?

Looks nice!

Got the hinge seam installed on the #1 bomb bay left side.

AMAZING!
DAG, just curious, what type of saw are you using? Are you using a Scroll saw? thats what I was planning on using on the plane I will be building. But it looks like you are making some precise cuts, and I would love to know how you are doing it. thanks

Well all I have decided to do something I have never done before, EVER!

I just ordered some software on putting information together for keeping it managed to write a book.

I see after looking at all 5733 post on RCG, and 1256 here (sorry I startec later on FG) and all the data I have recorded on this project that I have everything I need to make what I feel would be a fun read, and a great book about our hobby and this plane.

I won't spend a second on the actual book until this plane has at least 15-20 flights on it, but this way I have a way (software) to mange all the information.

Thanks, DAG

I have zero worries about that. My pockets are empty. Maybe the "hands in my pocket" will be putting something in it !

Very cool doors Dag. How long are they ?
